The biased media machine is always prepared to propagate this myth as is the left wing academic establishment. In a recorded video Barak Obama even once referred to his “Muslim faith”, irrespective of whether that was an error or not, and it thus remains unclear if he indeed is a Muslim or not. Headlines in the news this past week were an ugly reminder that violence is on the increase all over America. TV viewers cringed as images of the dead and wounded being rushed into ambulances in Fort Hood, Texas and Orlando, Florida interrupted regular programming. Collective tears were shed for the hysterical parents desperately trying to find out if their young people were among the victims.
The week before, the Bay Area reeled over the news of a 15-year-old girl who had been gang-raped, robbed, beaten and left for dead outside the Richmond High School dance she attended with her friends. Reportedly ten young men, some of them minors, took part in the brutal assault, taking turns at her. Many dance-goers stood around and watched, laughed, took pictures and egged the deviates on. None of the onlookers came to her assistance or even bothered to call the police. Finally, a student heard second hand that a naked girl was laying unconscious in the dark by the dumpster and called 911. Those who told her about it said they didn’t want to be snitches and so wouldn’t call for help for fear of retaliation. The victim survived but no doubt is scarred for life.
With all the talk in the liberal press about hate crimes, the local news was totally silent over the fact that the victim was a white “church-goer” and all the attackers were Latino in a region where illegal immigration is protected under the “safe haven, sanctuary” laws. If it were the other way around or if the victim were gay, they would have been all over it.

Over recent years there has been a steady build up of opposition to and outright rejection of what some term as ‘the theory’ of ‘penal substitution’. Amongst the definitions for ‘theory’ is one that reads – ‘a conjectural view or idea’. When it comes then to understanding what was happening on “the cross of Christ” for the faithful Christian the doctrine of ‘penal substitution’ is not a matter of ‘conjecture’ but it is the factual and glorious heartbeat that sustains God’s gift of “eternal life” [Romans 6:23]. ‘Penal substitution’ is a factual divine truth that leaps from the pages of the Bible and to deny otherwise is quite simply to set oneself up as an ‘enemy of the cross of Christ’.

When David Lister asked me to put together a review of the year I felt quite daunted as so much has happened and I did not want to forget to thank anyone for their input. Dear friends
Five thirty on a Saturday morning saw myself and the seven younger children heading out the gate in the bakkie (van) for Kwa Zulu Natal for our longed for visit, albeit a short one to Salvador and Dianne. We left Allen in the capable care of Lizzie, Thoko, Rosie and Walter to spend a quiet weekend at home with Roxanne coming in to cook supper for them. Four and a half hours later found us at Vryheid after an uneventful journey including a long stretch littered with potholes and kilometers traveling behind lines of four to five trucks at a time ahead of us. Salvador and Dianne met us in Vryheid and we followed them out of town to the outlying farmlands about forty minutes away. We then turned down a sand road (actually a mud road) and a little way along arrived at their home. Continue reading »

Do the recent deaths at a Sedona, Arizona New Age spiritual retreat have a lesson for anyone on a Christian journey today? The United Nations Human Rights Council spends a great deal of its time condemning Israel while ignoring real human rights abuses. Recently, the Council approved a resolution endorsing the one-sided, biased report of Judge Richard Goldstone and accusing Israel of “War Crimes.” This resolution will now be considered by the U.N. Security Council. Please sign the petition at the end of this short video that will be sent to President Obama and the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council urging them to veto this biased resolution.
