Moriel (India) Missions Report — July 2023

Greetings everyone,

Galatians 4:16 Am I, therefore, become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Things are continuing on in the ministry in India, and I have been back now for five weeks already; time is going by so quickly; nevertheless, the ministry is busy, and the pastors are working tirelessly in spreading the gospel whilst we still have the opportunity.

Working here can be extremely challenging and demanding, but we remain dedicated to fulfilling the Lord's calling. Unfortunately, we have faced persecution from certain groups in recent years. Additionally, a new type of Christianity has emerged, with false preachers staging performances that mislead people and make it difficult for faithful pastors to carry out their ministries.

Every year, we are witnessing an increase in the number of established fake religious ministries. This phenomenon is not just limited to Punjab but is spreading worldwide. These fraudulent organizations aim to deceive gullible people and extract money from them. Unfortunately, this has encouraged many younger swindlers to develop and establish their own brand of religious fraud.

Despite the challenges, Moriel India has made progress through pastors' conferences, open-air meetings, and preaching engagements in various churches. We have observed many pastors and believers becoming more aware of and rejecting current scams. This renewed focus on the truth of the gospel has helped solidify their understanding of correct theology and made them more resilient against false teachings.

  • New Church Construction, Punjab

I wanted to share an update about the new church currently under construction in Batala, Punjab. Pastor Vijay has been putting in a lot of effort for the past five months, and the progress has been impressive. We are expecting the work to be completed in approximately one more month, provided we don't encounter any unforeseen issues.

The new church will be located on the outskirts of the village, right along a road that leads to the village. This strategic location will attract a lot of attention, as the church will be visible to everyone passing by.

Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting several pastors from our local area who are interested in joining the ministry. Our church will serve as a hub for various pastors' conferences, providing a space for training and encouragement.

We aim to draw in numerous pastors by hosting conferences and outreach events, which will hopefully lead to many joining the Moriel ministry.

We are delighted to inform you that Jacob Prasch, Mark Jackson, and sister Maggie Jackson will join us for our church's official opening and dedication in late November, provided everything goes as expected.

  • Mitchel Children Home Andhra Pradesh:

In June, we celebrated the first anniversary of our ministry by organizing a gathering for all the children and staff. The event featured a delicious meal, fun games, and a prayer session, and everyone had a fantastic time. I am delighted to report that the children are thriving both academically and spiritually. They are excelling in their studies and making great progress in their understanding of faith. Furthermore, they are mastering scripture memory verses and demonstrating confidence in their vocal prayers and worship services.

Ministry:

We had the pleasure of hosting Mark Jackson recently, giving us the opportunity to engage in street preaching. The listeners were highly interested in what we had to say. Furthermore, we have been working hard in several areas to promote open-air preaching and pastors' conferences. We have also held meetings in High Castes areas, where reaching people who believe they are at the top of the social ladder was challenging. Despite these obstacles, we have been successful in spreading the gospel message to many people in various areas.

Thank you.
