Jamie Smith is a Christian writer from a church in Sheffield, England that is a Moriel affiliated fellowship. As a tent maker Jamie works in medical financial management
but his ministry is in Christian writing & publishing. Jamie has authored a four part series entitled "Shibbeloth" which presents an interesting , insightful and comprehensive
perspective and analysis of a number of serious issues presently confronting The Body of Christ.
As a standard disclaimer, while Moriel may or my not agree with each detail of the thesis, we certainly bear witness with its over all thrust and we thank The Lord and
thank Jamie for providing us such a helpful compendium of scripturally rooted examination of these current challenging issues which we would encourage our readers to
read carefully and with prayerful consideration.

Here are the impressions I have gained from John MacArthur"s strange Fire Conference. Please note this is not an exhaustive critique of which, I am sure, many will be appearing on the internet " for and against. I simply want to convey the broad strokes as I saw it.
A recent article by a Moriel missionary described the pre-tribulational position of John N. Darby as being demonically deluded.
John Nelson Darby was indeed in our view seriously deluded by the hyper dispensationalism to which he propounded and which factored into his split from the Open Brethren and Plymouth Brethren and has laid the ground work for closed brethren groups such as the Taylorites which we consider to be a cult that is indeed demonic. Darby's hyper dispensational theology, among other problems, carries subtle influences of ancient Marcionism. Darby's erroneous actions have unfortunately and unjustly tarnished the good name and reputation of more scripturally based Brethren groups and of moderate dispensationalists and caused rapture belief itself to be discredited.

"God is playing a role in all religions and that Christians are more united than they sometimes think." ~ George O. Wood
It is here in Israel, the land of the scriptures that he loved so much that we just learned that our friend & brother Pastor Chuck Smith went home to glory to be with Jesus.
Ronnie Cohen (the believing tour guide for Pastor Chuck's Israel tours and my own) were informed as we were leading a study tour of Galilee that Chuck went to his Saviour and to his reward after his struggle with lung cancer. While we rejoice for Chuck, for ourselves we received the news with a sense of sincere loss.
I liked Chuck personally and regarded him highly as one of the relatively few Evangelical figures who were willing to reach out to the newly saved hippies coming to Christ though the Jesus Movement and I always valued his support for Israel and The Jews. It was always a blessing and a joy to share conference platforms with such a kind and gracious brother.
We express our condolences to Pastor Chuck's family and especially to Chuck's brother Paul who is a close and trusted friend.
We request prayer for Chuck's family and for the future of Calvary Chapels.

Steve Chalke, Lucy Winkett, and Graham Kendrick gang upon Israel.  Â
We have long ridiculed the hypocritical idiocy of the left wing press, fundamentalist Islamic interests, the politicians they own in Washington and London, and anti Semites at the targeting of Israel. As no one can contest, Israel simply has by far the best record of human rights (even for homosexuals and lesbians), women's rights, civil rights of free political expression and an independent judiciary, and above all the best Christian rights in the Middle East. Every hypocritical apologist for Islamic terror, every left wing propagandist at the BBC and CNN masquerading as a journalist, and every left wing pseudo-academic parasite masquerading as a scholar, habitually ignores the grossest violations of human rights, civil rights, women's rights, and the unspeakable persecution of Christians throughout the Moslem world and in the Islamic nations surrounding Israel, choosing instead to divert attention away from this reality by designating Israel as a villain.
In the conviction of Moriel & Jacob Prasch based on Revelation 18:4 that it is a shame, a disgrace, and a betrayal of Christ for any saved Christian to remain party to this outrage by The Church of England in which h no truly born again believer can scripturally remain.
WELBY (ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY) DEDICATES NEW EVANGELICAL ALLIANCE HEADQUARTERS BUILDING ACCUSING BRITISH BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS OF MALICE TOWARDS HOMOSEXUALS AND SAYS EVANGELICALS MUST REPENT.
This is exactly yet another example of the kinds of reasons that no truly saved Christian should have anything to do with the utterly backslidden, spiritually bankrupt, and theologically abject nonsense known as The Church of England or that pathetic, morally and doctrinally compromised, and completely irrelevant religious joke known as the UK Evangelical Alliance. Such hideous institutions are an insult to the Name and cause of Christ and regenerate clergy remaining in them can only be scripturally ignorant misfits, spineless cowards or both.

A false eschatology that is plainly heretical, potentially cultic and ultimately lethal.
In the last several weeks Moriel has received multiple inquiries and flat out expressions of serious concern regarding the eschatological paradigm of Paine & Ware .
The source of this teaching (which we can only conclude to be erroneous and dangerous) on the important subject of the return of Jesus is the hypothesis postulated by Frank Paine and Arthur Ware in the last century derived from their writings "Restored Vision" and "Miracle of Time". Â

"Experts Speak Out on End Times Prophecy"
This book contains a series of chapter articles by a compendium of authors, including the general editors Tim LaHaye, Thomas Ice and Ed Hindson, as well as chapters contributed by Paul Wilkinson, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, David Reagan, Wayne Brindle, Michael Vlach, Wayne House, Grant Jeffrey and Robert Dean. I count the general editors among my personal friends and conference colleagues as I would various of the contributing authors. I certainly appreciate the impact Tim LaHaye has had in propounding belief in the Rapture in a popular season where Rapture belief and eschatology generally has greatly declined. I likewise consider the refutation of Dominion Theology by Thomas Ice and Wayne House to be the finest single work ever authored in opposition to that false school of doctrine. I am furthermore unable to express the depth of my appreciation for the longstanding work of my friend Arnold Fruchtenbaum, who personifies the theologically sane axis of the modern Messianic Movement that has been so plagued by lunacy. Residing in Great Britain, I can testify that the work of Paul Wilkinson in confronting so-called "Christian Anti-Zionism" and "Christian Palestinianism" to be absolutely invaluable.
