Moriel South Africa Missions July 2010

Dear Friends

Greetings in Jesus.

1The last two months have been busy with a lot of changes and a lot of traveling. My tour of Australia and New Zealand went well with me making a lot of New contacts. I have always loved Australia but the chance to go and meet people from a new land was exciting. I caught up with the NZ administrator Nigel for the first time. We had spoken over the phone and corresponded by email many times but to meet him face to face was wonderful and to see the hard work he puts in.

When Whole Cities Fall

When Jerusalem fell to the Greco-Syrian tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes it fell twice. The first time was a gradual assimilation into the Greek culture that was first introduced by Alexander the Great and whose precepts were inherited by his military successors throughout the remnant of that once great yet brief empire. The vision that Alexander had was to see the whole world transformed by a single language and culture; this in turn was the thrust of this madman cum megalomaniac whose political and military pressure turned the rulers of Jerusalem's religious class upon themselves. The new Greek thought in the form of Hellenism was pitted against the traditions of Rabbinic Judaism and the new usurped the old with the result being the political and cultural domination of Greco-Syria.

Latest Addition to EBYOWN

Dear Friends

SingqobilePlease can we introduce you to Singqobile,  a 4 year old little girl who we have been promised for months but who through ill health has spent most of that time in Hospital. She is a girl with many needs as she was born with no aesophagous and is tube fed. The tube she has is not correct, in fact it is a urinary caphiter that has been adapted and this has caused infections.
We have already contacted the same company that fitted Simpiwe with what is called a 'Micky' and they have promised to come and do the procedure here ay Ebyown for the cost of the appliance alone.
When we first met her she was so full of life and energy, but because of the time in a government hospital, lack of stimulation and family she has begun to institutionalise and is quite sad. Please pray that the coming month will see her put on weight and settle down into family life.
Thank you for your prayers and support
In Jesus

New Child at EBYOWN

Dear Friends

SarahPlease let me introduce to you Sarah, the latest child to arrive at Ebyown. Sarah is 10 years old and has come from a background that is quite horrific and for legal reasons we cannot go into detail. All we can say is that she needs a lot of prayer, love and nurture.
Sarah has mental problems and she needs to be assessed on her physical and mental issues, this will happen early in the New year.
Meanwhile she is a suprisingly happy child with a lovely smile and we praise God we can give her a happy family and a place of love for over the Christmas period and beyond.
Please pray for Lyn and the staff that the Lord will give them wisdom and strength for the coming months while we settle Sarah down.

South Africa Missions Report November 2009

Dear Friends

We want to end this year giving praise to our God for His supply that he has often wrought through you. When David Lister asked me to put together a review of the year I felt quite daunted as so much has happened and I did not want to forget to thank anyone for their input. So that's why I want to begin with thanks giving to our God and to our supporters for all that you have done. From Jacob and Dave Lister who always mention the work wherever they go, to all our administrators who are so supportive, to my family who put up with my insecurities and especially to my parents who host me. The list goes on and on and on and so we give Glory to God.

In Memory Of Sam

Dear Friends

[caption id="attachment_4085" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Sam and Lorraine on their wedding day"]Sam and Lorraine on their wedding day[/caption]

Today we are mourning the death of a beloved brother in the Lord, Sam. Sam died yesterday from Meningitis which, because of his status, became more critical than usual to control. Sam leaves a widow in Loraine and 4 children. But what can we say about Sam? I have used Sam many times in sermon illustrations on the subject of Redemption lift. The brief time we knew him was an example of how Christ can indwell and transform a life. His life went from unsaved to saved through the witness of his wife and also his daughter who came to faith. Because of this, Sam began coming to church and then committed his life to Yeshua. Then we saw what God did in his life as he was found outside his home most evenings reading scripture and even later on in his walk holding bible studies with others around him. He was a firm man, with lots of character and a great sense of humour and also with lots of determination to see Jesus lifted up. This led to him spending hours with Salvador learning to read scripture in Zulu, one of the languages he spoke, as he initially did not know how to read. When he had the offer of being taught to read in Zulu he grabbed it with both hands, and what was the reason? So he could read the bible for himself! But Sam wasn't content with that, he also desired to read scripture in English too.

Moriel Missions Southern Africa August 2006

Dear Friends

Greetings in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah

I apologise for the lateness of this update, I am currently touring the USA with Jacob Prasch and this email comes all the way from sunny California where we are attending a last day"s prophecy and Israel conference. The conference has been well attended due to the interest in the last days brought about by the present conflict in Israel and Lebanon . In fact not only Christians are interested but also non-believers who may have a passing interest in these things are asking questions concerning these last days. Questions such as, "is this going to bring the end of the world?" One lady commented, "You Christians should be happy because what the Bible says will happen are happening" .
