Matthew Murray, the deranged shooter who murdered four and attempted to murder hundreds of other Christians in his armed attacks on a mission's center in Arvada, Colorado and on an Evangelical church in Colorado Springs had been until recently a member of the spiritually and doctrinally warped 'Youth With A Mission' (YWAM) organization founded by Loren Cunningham and promoted by Danny Lehman.

NEW YORK (CNS) -- For the first time, representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participated in a papal prayer service -- and it all started over coffee.

In an interview with Catholic News Service and other reporters before the start of the ecumenical prayer service at St. Joseph's Church in New York April 18, Father James Massa, executive director of the U.S. bishops' Secretariat of Ecumenical and Interrreligious Affairs, said that during a coffee break at a recent meeting a representative of the Latter-day Saints asked him if there was any possibility of their participation in the papal visit.

As George Carey retires as the Archbishop of Canterbury, there are difficult times ahead for successor Rowan Williams.

The Church of England is heading for a bitter row over whether lesbian and gay Christians can expect it to accept them. It has spent the last decade trying to come to terms with its decision to ordain women priests.

Let Us Reason Ministries

This article is a response to an email we received from Ted Haggard on April 7, 2003. Haggard was responding to our Open Letter To The NAE. Keep in mind that Ted Haggard did not want us to use the word "official response" but graciously gave us permission to use his comments. The reason we asked if his email to us was an official response to our open letter was because we wanted to find out if he stood behind what he claimed in his emails to us. We did this so that we would be able to give a thoughtful response and not expect him to take some other position after the fact. This letter is not meant to be disrespectful. Our intent is to be honest in our position and response. The following is the section of Haggard's email where he gave us permission to use his response.

Campolo's Campus Appearance Called Into Question Christian College Ignoring 'False Teacher,' Says Pennsylvania Group

By Jim Brown

(AgapePress) - A Christian group is asking an Assemblies of God Bible college in Pennsylvania to drop a frequent guest chapel speaker because of his heretical beliefs. But the school's president is defending his decision to invite a man who holds to universalist theology and an unbiblical view of homosexuality.

(CNSNews.com) - When the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his wife were crowned the "King and Queen of Peace" on March 23rd -- inside the Dirksen Senate Office Building with Members of Congress looking on -- few news outlets took notice.

But in the months since Moon's March 23rd "coronation" as Messiah, a growing number of people are questioning the appropriateness of allowing a "coronation" to take place inside a government building.

Not Gay, Just Friends: Anglican Leader

by Peter Shadbolt

With his church in danger of fracturing over same-sex unions, the head of the Anglican Church in Australia, Peter Carnley, is urging followers to adjust their attitudes to homosexuality and think of gay relationships as merely "friendship".

In a bid to chart a perilous course between Anglican progressives and conservatives, Dr Carnley opened over the weekend what could prove to be one of the most divisive general synods in the history of the Australian church.

[caption id="attachment_2796" align="alignright" width="250" caption="Dr Rowan Williams"]Rowan Williams[/caption]

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, today presided at a 'secret' eucharist for the Clergy Consultation, as we reported that he would back in September. As we report, he gave a talk on 'present realities and future possibilities for lesbians and gay men in the church.' The venue, originally at St Peter's Eaton Square, was switched to another location in London, All Hallows-by-the-Tower, to avoid media attention after new of the meeting emerged first on the Church Society website. In a speech on ecumenism in Rome last Friday, translated from German for me by Chris Gillibrand, Cardinal Walter Kasper spoke of the irrevocable divisions emerging from Anglicanism's present crisis.

The Cardinal said: 'While we in old matters of controversy we try to overcome old divisions, presently in ethical questions new divisions open up. This applies in particular to the protection of life, to marriage and the family, and issues of human sexuality. The joint public testimony is thereby weakened or impossible. The internal crisis for the churches is most evident in the Anglican community, but not only there.'
