Benny Hinn

Eira A. Carminati

On May 19th, Benny Hinn came to Philadelphia's Spectrum - seating capacity of 19,000 - to put on a crusade. Jackie Alnor alerted me, and we decided to go if she was successful in procuring press clearance. She was.

The meetings opened with singing. We were disturbed that we knew and loved almost every song sung, yet it was plain that the One we sing to in our own services was not present corporately, though He went with us - for of course He never leaves the hearts of His people. And if He was so conspicuously absent from among the congregation, to whom were they singing?

Kenneth Copeland is the most prosperous the "Word-Faith"/"Positive Confession" preachers. "Positive confession" teaches that words have creative power. What you say determines everything that happens to you. In "confessions" demanded of God, you must be positive without wavering. Then these people think that God is required to answer (Charismatic Chaos, p. 281). Word-Faith sees positive confessing as an incantation by which they conjure up anything they desire: "Believe it in your heart; say it with your mouth. That is the principle of faith. You can have what you say" (Charismatic Chaos, p. 285). Will the mouth move the mountain? Blab and grab it; name and claim it; what you say is what you get!

Pat Robertson, False Prophet, Again

by David E. Lister

Pat Robertson of The 700 Club fame has once again prophesied wrongly! This time in an interview on CNN, Mr. Robertson reversed himself on a prophecy given in January of 2004. In that prophecy Mr. Robertson declared the Mr. Bush would win re-election "in a walk" and added, " I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord its going to be a blowout." But yesterday he admitted that this prophecy was not the Lord speaking but his own thoughts. Mr. Robertson stated in the interview, "I thought it was gong to be a blowout, but I think its razor thin."

Kim Clement - Another False Prophecy

God said "I"m going to make you relevant to the world. Every nation under the sun is going to understand what you"re saying. Today preachers don"t preach, that give any understanding to the world. God's raising up pulpits in the entertainment industry, God's raising up pulpits in the sports arenas of this world. God's raising up pulpits in the business world. Madison Avenue, NY, Washington D.C., California. God's about to take the marketplace by storm and you are the ones that qualify."

Benny Hinn"s Prophetic Track Record

Benny Hinn cashes in on the superstitions that he has planted into peoples minds by using his place of power to compel people to donate to his ministry and that of TBN.  Ã‚  That has already been documented in the fundraising chapter.  Ã‚  Hinn shared his dream that the prophet Elijah handed off his rod of authority to him and then with that authority commanded the people to empty their pockets.

He warned TBN supporters that those who hold back from giving would not survive the year 2001 as was supposedly prophesied by 700 Club founder Pat Robertson.  Ã‚  Yet, when 2001 came and went there were no casualties to report and no apologies forthcoming.

"The Spirit tells me - Fidel Castro will die - in the 90's. Oooh my! Some will try to kill him and they will not succeed. But there will come a change in his physical health, and he will not stay in power, and Cuba will be visited of God."

- Benny Hinn.   Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31st, 1989.
