Chuck Smith Jr. Back In The Pulpit

by Jackie Alnor
http://www.apostasyalert.org

Chuck Smith Jr. is back to his pulpit at Capo Beach Calvary Chapel after taking a sabbatical that included a month-long stay last October in a Catholic monastery in Big Sur. He told his congregation of his experience there and brought back the "truths" he discovered under the tutelage of a monk named Romuald - so named after the medieval founder of the hermitage called Camaldolese. Below is a major portion of that message.

Being True To My Church

By Jackie Alnor
www.apostasyalert.org

I'm having church issues this week. As many of you know, I have attended Calvary Chapels since I was born-again back in 1981. My first Calvary was Costa Mesa and my first pastor was Chuck Smith. I still think of it as my home church since I've moved around this country a lot. Pastor Chuck and I would agree on all the essentials of the faith and even on many non-essentials. But, because he pastors a mega-church, I've never actually met him face to face. He doesn't know me, though he knows of me, however I can finish his sentences, I'm that familiar with his teaching.

Proponents Of A New Paradigm

Aquarian Conspiracy Revisited

Early in the decade of the 1980s, a book rose to the best-sellers list that frightened many Christian leaders and marked the birth of the world's awareness of the new age movement. That book was The Aquarian Conspiracy, written by sociologist, Marilyn Ferguson. It was instantly recognized by the church as a threat to God's truth and a force to be reckoned with.

Benny Hinn"s Prophetic Track Record

Benny Hinn cashes in on the superstitions that he has planted into peoples minds by using his place of power to compel people to donate to his ministry and that of TBN.  Ã‚  That has already been documented in the fundraising chapter.  Ã‚  Hinn shared his dream that the prophet Elijah handed off his rod of authority to him and then with that authority commanded the people to empty their pockets.

He warned TBN supporters that those who hold back from giving would not survive the year 2001 as was supposedly prophesied by 700 Club founder Pat Robertson.  Ã‚  Yet, when 2001 came and went there were no casualties to report and no apologies forthcoming.

Neo-Pharisees: The New 'Heresy-Hunters'

by Jackie Alnor
www.apostasyalert.org

There"s a new term being brandished against those in the church called as watchmen. It used to be "heresy hunters" but now we"re being called "neo-Pharisees." The former label was made popular by TBN"s Paul Crouch against those who exposed the false doctrines of TBN regulars who taught the Positive Confession/Word-Faith teachings that they utilized to get the viewers to pay them for God's favors. The new term is courtesy of the Emerging Church using such demagogy against anyone who dares to point out the occult/mystical roots of "contemplative prayer" and iconology.

Stephen Strang in the Pits

by Jackie Alnor
www.Apostasyalert.org

The late Walter Martin often said, "You can tell a wolf in sheep"s clothing by its diet. Wolves eat sheep." What would you say about a Christian leader who would sell the names and addresses of his donors to secular interests with the promise that his list would make them rich? Well, that is exactly what Charisma"s publisher, Stephen Strang has done.

Todd Bentley"s Diabolical Signs

by Jackie Alnor
Apostasy Alert

If you"ve been watching the news on "Christian Television" in the past couple of weeks, you could not have missed the glowing reports of a "revival" breaking out in Lakeland, Florida. It is headed up by a certified false prophet/teacher by the name of Todd Bentley, one of the guys from the infamous Elijah List, an umbrella group that markets all the bogus "prophetic" junk their many seers sell. Many of these forerunners for the antichrist are heralding this outbreak as the much-touted outpouring of the latter rain. {If you think I'm speaking harshly, keep reading to understand why I can't mince words.}

Jezebel and the Frog Prince

by Jackie Alnor
Apostasy Alert

"Jezebel & the Frog Prince " " “ sounds like an Aesop's fairy tale where the loving couple lives happily ever after. But not in the corrupt kingdom of televangelism where lowly church people are transformed into famous starlets whose role models are the rich and famous seen on the primary channels of the boob tube. The big difference between the secular and the religious celebrities are that the secular ones got to the top because of their talent and the televangelists rose to fame on the backs of the poor widows" mites.

Quantum Alchemy

by Jackie Alnor
Apostasy Alert
June 19, 2007

In last week"s Reflection, I introduced you to the leaders of The Gateway Christian Fellowship who have announced the Latter Rain has begun in Idaho with the signs of falling gems. Next month, July 19-21, 2007, they will be co-sponsoring a conference, along with Elijah List, with a roster of speakers who can take people to the next step in their spiritual quest for God's glory. The list of speakers is mysterious in and of itself. Remember that game on Sesame Street that sang:

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
