Hazor'im ("they that sow") "“ www.hazorim.org - is an initiative set up in New Zealand. Teams of volunteers are gathered from the body of Messiah, given basic training (extramural), and sent to Israel for three weeks. One week of visiting places of Biblical interest, combined with teaching, and two weeks of sharing Messiah Yeshua on the streets. The principle tool used in the field is "Messiah Comes" "“ www.messiah.com.es .
It is envisaged that, God willing, Hazor'im will soon operate out of more countries than just New Zealand.
Expressions of interest are invited. See www.hazorim.org for contact details.
The rest of the team is on schedule to be in PAP on the 12th and in Caneille on the 13th. Their focus will be to install all the radio station equipment and get the station operational. They will also be distributing self-powered hand-crank radios to the residents of the relief camp. In addition, they will be helping construct the kitchen for the camp, performing maintenance on the diesel generator, and assessing the other on-going needs of the camp: permanent latrines & showers, water needs, tent needs, school needs, and future construction plans as well as solar power systems.
We are watching the Lord bring to fruition the connection with EcoBlue Products and their CEO, Steve Conboy. Steve is working toward shipping some pre-fab ready-to-assemble 16' x 20' housing units in three shipping containers also loaded with food generated from an on-going food drive from San Diego, CA. These efforts have been generating TV coverage of the camp on San Diego's local NBC and other TV news stations (). We have other teams from Calvarys around the country standing by ready to help construct these and the necessary foundations. The units have been engineered for high earthquake loads and hurricane-force winds. There appears to be a door opening to acquire many, perhaps hundreds, of these housing units.
We are praising the Lord for the provision of a quality used Toyota 4x4 truck! Bastia is very happy with the quality of the vehicle, please see the attached picture.
We are on schedule to have a team in Haiti April 12 - 20 to distribute the 17,000 lbs of large tents between Calvary Chapel Caneille and Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince, transport them, and erect a few, while training a few Haitians to repair & erect them also. The tents are of various sizes and quantities, from 20' x 20' up to 40' x 100'. Participating in this will be a team from Calvary Chapel of Old Bridge, NJ as they work with and support Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince. Also, Calvary Chapel of Manitowoc, WI has finalized the equipment tuning for the radio station at Calvary Chapel Caneille. One member of our April team will be from Calvary Chapel Manitowoc and will be setting up the equipment and turning it on, while we also distribute the hand-crank/solar powered radios among the camp residents.
Also on the immediate project list is the construction coordination of some ready-to-assemble 16' x 20' pre-fab housing units. There are skilled teams from a few Calvarys standing by to travel to Caneille and install the foundations when a firm schedule develops. We also have received another open door of resources from a Christian businessman from LaCrosse, WI who has been shipping relief supplies to Haiti through Royal Caribbean Cruise Line at little or no cost.
Because of the generous contributions to Moriel Ministries to aid the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Moriel is donating the entire $10,000 cost for a water purification system in support of a relief camp set up in Haiti by the local Calvary Chapel. The following is their report which expands on both their efforts and the need for a water purification system.
Here is an update on the work that the Lord has set before us at Calvary Chapel Caneille, Haiti.
Moriel Ministries is contributing $10,000 of the contributions it received to address the needs of the Haiti earthquake victims to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a long-standing Evangelical missions organization specializing in reaching remote and underprivileged areas of the world through missionaries operating a fleet of small aircraft, the establishment of communication systems, and distance learning programs to evangelize and disciple wherever possible. The on-the-ground reports of their activities in Haiti are provided and updated here.
We want to end this year giving praise to our God for His supply that he has often wrought through you. When David Lister asked me to put together a review of the year I felt quite daunted as so much has happened and I did not want to forget to thank anyone for their input. So that's why I want to begin with thanks giving to our God and to our supporters for all that you have done. From Jacob and Dave Lister who always mention the work wherever they go, to all our administrators who are so supportive, to my family who put up with my insecurities and especially to my parents who host me. The list goes on and on and on and so we give Glory to God.
Dear friends and supporters
We would like to say thank you for those who helped us in our prayers for an MPV. As you know our Kombi broke down nearly two years and although our Ford Fiesta is a neat little car, taking large amounts of kids for their HIV blood screening tests at the clinic was impractical. This also means we can take trips to the Bokkie park at last or even go for an ice cream.
Thank you once again for your prayers and practical support.
Dave and Lyn Royle
Jacob Prasch joined Roger Oakland and the Bryce Foundation missionaries (Bryce foundation is the Third World Missions branch of Moriel's sister ministry - Understand The Times) in The Philippines for two series of pastor's training conferences, two prison ministries and assistance to impoverished children. Their work of Roger Oakland's ministry is as difficult as our own mission work directed by Dave Royle in Africa.
Shalom all! Â Â Â Â Â January 16, 2008
As most of you already know, i was denied entrance to Russia last week. i was heading back for 3 months of service in Beslan, but only got as far as Moscow, where they detained me for several hours and then sent me back out of the country. A number of you have written and asked more specifically about what happened and so forth, and so i put this together to tell more about that, as well as to share with you some of the things which are on my heart.
Vatican City, Rome, Italy 21st-24th March
Every time I visit Rome I always have a refreshed sense of God's grace and mercy. I thank the Lord for my health, my family, all our provisions and, most of all, my salvation.
