My family and Moriel Kids gave thanks unto our holy and gracious God last December 31, 2011. The children had joyfully received the blessings and appreciated them so much.

We started in prayer, Jomar Panwelos led the opening song, while Jacob, my son, played the organ.

Children offered their song of praises unto the Lord. And I gave them a short message of encouragement.

Before they eat, prayer of thanks for the delicious food. The Kitchen workers, Ann- my wife, and Grace- my daughter, served the food. They had spaghetti, hotdog, gelatine, banana, ice cream, shanghai roll, juice drink, and roasted pig(Lechon baboy). It was the first time for most of the children to have eaten a roasted pig because it is one of the most special foods of Filipinos in every special occasions. The children enjoyed their food. They ate as long as they liked.

They rested for a while after eating, then they had some parlor games like Trip to Jerusalem, Bring Me and etc. The small boy- Joren Panwelos had a high score in telling Memory Verses as many as they could. The small girl-Mary Mae Amposta had a high score in singing Praise Songs as many as they could.

After the games, the children had some take home goodies in a plastic bag composed of fruits like apple, ponkan, dalandan and candies. They all went home with a smile in their faces and a happy tummy.

Truly, we should thank the Lord in everything.
Thank you very much and Happy New Year.

In Christ,
Ptr. Paul

State of Moriel 2011-2012

The Ballad of Gorgeous George and Jittery Jacob

George Mueller was a man of God if there ever was one. Spiritually I cannot place myself in his league by any means, but there are obvious inescapable comparisons, not between us but between the challenges faced. Before coming to know Jesus, Mueller was apparently something of a kind of philandering lush who was rather lavish with cash enjoying the high life. After coming to know Jesus, however, he had a heart for poor children (the urban poverty and plight of homeless children in the UK in his day was something akin to Third World conditions today as described in Dickens novels). Less noble in lifestyle than his London counterpart, Dr. Barnardo, Mueller of Bristol had been quite the character.

ARE YOU A SLAVE OR A SON?

Romans 8:12-25

By Pastor Dave Royle

12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh"”

13     for aif you are living according to the flesh, you 1must die; but if by the Spirit you are bputting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

14     For all who are abeing led by the Spirit of God, these are bsons of God.

15     For you ahave not received a spirit of slavery 1leading to fear again, but you bhave received 2a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "cAbba! Father!"

16     The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are bchildren of God,

17     and if children, aheirs also, heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ, bif indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time aare not worthy to be compared with the bglory that is to be revealed to us.

19     For the aanxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for bthe revealing of the csons of God.

20     For the creation awas subjected to bfutility, not of its own will, but cbecause of Him who subjected it, 1in hope

21     that athe creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

22     For we know that the whole creation agroans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

23     aAnd not only this, but also we ourselves, having bthe first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves cgroan within ourselves, dwaiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, ethe redemption of our body.

24     For ain hope we have been saved, but bhope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?

25     But aif we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

A few years ago while watching a Television program, a story was told of an elderly man. He was a bit of a hermit, kept himself to himself. His house was a mess, it had not been painted for years. In his yard there were stacks and stacks of rubbish that he had collected. The curtains to his home were always shut and the place was over run with vermin. It wasn't a suprize that it was sometime before the neighbors reported something amiss and reported this to the Police. Sadly amongst the squalor the old man's body was found. The reality was he had something called Diogenes syndrome a condition that turns a person into a cynical, miserly hoarder who would rather live in filth. As social workers began to dig through his property to find out exactly who he was, they were shocked. Thousands of pounds were stuffed into his mattress, he did not trust banks. He had a very well-to-do family in fact he had a title of sorts and yet here he was, living amidst such self imposed squalor.
