Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. (2 Ti. 2:15)
A just balance and scales belong to the LORD;
All the weights of the bag are His concern. (Prov. 16:11)
I fully realize that the prime and literal meaning of Proverbs 16:11 has to do with our fair and honest dealings with others, but I have wondered lately if it has an application to our "accurately handling the word of truth". Could the "balance and scales" characterize our entire handling of God's Word and each of the weights the various doctrines and teachings presented throughout Scripture? Each of these doctrinal weights "are His concern", but in our pursuit to accurately handle the Word do we properly balance the scales as a whole? While there are out-and-out false teachers whose assertions contradict the plain truth of God's Word, there are faithful brethren in Christ we come across who are generally right the vast majority of the time, but can be found clinging to an error or two here and there. They are not heretics or false teachers and therefore do not warrant treatment as such, but the question persists, "How can those who are doctrinally secure biblically in most areas be found to be in error in some other area?" I think it often has to do with how they balance some of the weights without full regard to all of the weights.

"˜The Lord Will Make Jerusalem A Heavy Stone And All Who Lift It Will Be Severely Injured' - Zechariah 12:3
Few Christians and fewer if any non-Christians comprehend the prophetic significance of the series of events that have occurred over the past two weeks in England, Norway and the U.S. The nations of the world are lining up in a confederacy against the regathered nation of Israel unaware that they are puppets of the antichrist who is pulling their strings.ÂÂ
All of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility. 1 Peter 5:5
I have met two classes of Christians; the proud who imagine they are humble, and the humble who are afraid they are proud!
There should be another class: the self-forgetful men and women who leave the whole thing in the hands of Christ and refuse to waste any time trying to make themselves good. They will reach the goal far ahead of the rest.
The truly humble person does not expect to find virtue in himself, and when he finds none he is not disappointed. He knows that any good deed he may do is the result of God's working within him.
When this belief becomes so much a part of any man or woman that it operates as a kind of unconscious reflex, he or she is released from the burden of trying to live up to the opinion they hold of themselves. They can relax and count upon the Holy Spirit to fulfill the moral law within them.
Let us never forget that the promises of God are made to the humble: the proud man by his pride forfeits every blessing promised to the lowly heart, and from the hand of God he need expect only justice!

A Japanese translation of "Vectors" is now available from the Online Sermons page.
Can you explain this Hebrew Idiom and what is the correct English translation.
For example, when Exodus 10:20 says that "the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart"
When A Truth Becomes THE Truth
"You may say in your heart, "˜How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?' When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. (Dt. 18:21"“22)
True Bible-believing, sanctified Christians the world over are running to this and related verses when it comes to the antics of our latest false prognosticator Harold Camping. Of course, this is just the beginning of what is sure to be a series of similar public debacles in the 18 months ahead of us as Camping has declared that what took place on May 21st was "invisible" but will become "visible" to the whole world this coming October 21st. (Plan your second "Rapture Party" now, kids.) And then we have next year being the last year of the Mayan calendar and an equally high-profile false teacher in Jack Van Impe who has selected December 21, 2012 as his date of doom. (Rapture parties will probably be so passé by then.) But while such Scripture passages may be of comfort and reassurance among the biblically faithful, the truth is that it has almost no effect on either the weak and nominal Christians following this nonsense much less the unsaved who do not subscribe to anything Christian to begin with. Among those who still cling to God's Word there is no problem overcoming the Campings of the world, the real problem is among most everyone else.
So rejoice, O sons of Zion,
And be glad in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the early rain for your vindication.
And He has poured down for you the rain,
The early and latter rain as before. (Joel 2:23)
This is a verse I have heard and seen oft quoted to assert that there is still a powerful revival to come, what some people call "The Latter Rain". This is a part of the reason for the enthusiasm crowds of people have exhibited over the past 25 years at the notorious false revivals beginning in Kansas City and which took the show on the road to Brownsville, Pensacola, Toronto, Lakeland, various points abroad and most recently opening for a limited engagement in Alabama. (It will not last and fail just like its predecessors.) People who have it in the back of their mind that there is one, last world-altering revival may not be taking the time to assess if what they are seeing is biblically authentic or not. But the greater question I am posing is if there really is one, big, final outpouring of the Spirit ahead of us?
