"˜It is hard to understand this deal," said Richard Holbrooke, President Obama's special envoy. And, if the special envoy of the so-called smartest and most impressive administration in living memory can't understand it, what chance do the rest of us have?
BRUSSELS, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Czech President Vaclav Klaus, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, said on Thursday that the attempts to speed up and deepen EU integration could endanger all the positive things achieve in Europe in the last 50 years.

France's top judicial body today recognised the French government's responsibility for the deportation of Jews during World War II - the clearest such recognition of the state's role in the Holocaust.
The Council of State found that the government of Nazi-occupied France at the time held the 'responsibility' for deportations.
While Britain's former ultra left wing Labour Party Mayor of London Ken Livingston invited radical Islamic Sheik Yusuf Qardawi to a publicly funded London event who was given an entry visa by the British government despite his issuing a 'fatwa' calling on Moslem women to become suicide bombers. A European member of the Dutch parliament Geert Wilders was however banned by the Labour government from entering the UK for producing a factually true film exposing fundamentalist Islam for exactly what it is documented to be. Many complain that this same Labour government routinely hands out visas to Islamic asylum seekers who burdon social services and the British tax payer instead seeking asylum in oil rich moslem countries.   JJP
With the rising level of intolerance against Christians in the UK (note the recent cases whereby people have lost jobs/careers for matters of conscience...or where the 5-year old primary schoolgirl was told off for telling her friend about Jesus)...is it wise to allow our identity and movements to be monitored so closely by any government quite so closely?

Probe: Jennie Cain is being investigated forover an e-mail sent to Christian friends
A school receptionist faces the sack after seeking the support of Christian friends when her five-year-old daughter was scolded for talking about God in class.
Jennie Cain's daughter Jasmine was ticked off by a teacher for discussing Heaven and Hell with a fellow pupil and came home in tears.
After comforting her distraught daughter, Mrs Cain, who works at the school, sent a private email to ten close Christian friends asking them to offer prayers for the families and the school.
But a copy fell into the hands of Gary Read, headmaster at Landscore Primary School, in Crediton, Devon.
Now Mrs Cain, 38, is being investigated for professional misconduct for allegedly making claims against the school and staff members. She may be disciplined and even faces dismissal.
The case has caused fresh outrage in the Christian community, which fears its members are becoming the most discriminated against people in society.

Will Rejecting Pentecostalism and Charismatic Gifts Solve The Churches' Problems?
In the recent few years a number of people who had always been open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit have felt driven away from that belief into a stoic non-charismatic or even an anti-charismatic or anti-Pentecostal Christianity. There exists a combination of reasons for this trend. Among them are the unbalanced and anti-scriptural extremism of Toronto and Pensacola, the essentially mystical and New Age perversions of biblical theology by the Vineyard Movement, the Shamanism copied from Buddhism and Hinduism by Yongee Cho, and the Altered States of Consciousness as Christian experience argued for by Patrick Dixon. To this has been added the failed prophetic predictions of men like Paul Cane, Mike Bickle and the Kansas City Prophets', Gerald Coates, and Rick Joyner. Perhaps worst of all has been the wild televised proliferation of money-oriented faith-prosperity preachers and bogus faith healers who are too numerous to mention, that seem to be good for nothing other than discrediting the Gospel in the eyes of the public, conning undiscerning and biblically ignorant Christians out of money better donated to honest missions, Christian charity, and biblical forms of evangelism, and too often even getting people killed when they cease vital medical therapy wrongly believing they have been healed when they have not been. (When Jesus heals people without medical intervention, as He sometimes does, they do not die.)

I am hearing ever more alarming accounts of the deepening attrition against British Jews in the wake of the incitement against Israel provoked by the war in Gaza. In addition to the record number of attacks upon Jewish individuals and institutions and murderous incitement displayed on the anti-Israel demonstrations and riots as reported by the Community Security Trust, Jewish parents report that their children "“ some as young as eight "“ are now running a gauntlet of attack from their Muslim classmates at school who accuse them of "˜killing Palestinian children'. Comments by adults about "˜Jews controlling all the money/the media/the BBC' (yes, really! All because it allowed Israel's spokesman to put the case for Israel from time to time) are now commonplace in both private and public discourse. Today's Jewish Chronicle reports that a 12 year-old Birmingham schoolgirl was terrorised by a mob of 20 youths chanting "˜Kill all Jews' and "˜Death to Jews' on her way home from school last week:
Last year I visit Thailand and during my visit I felt uneasy the whole time because of the idolatry that was everywhere. Everywhere you turned there was an idol. I felt a spiritual oppression and a real demonic work there with temples on every street corner. When I visit Rome I get the same sense as I see Roman mythology in the form of Roman Catholicsm. But now, I am sad to say, I have the same uneasiness, the same gut wrenching feeling now in my own country!
