Connections To US Administration - Was Johnston/Warren Part Of A Religious Attache' To Syria?

by Geri E. Klein

I've been researching Rick Warren for some time; however, due to subtle signs over the last week, on Sunday, I had been frantically alerting key folks that Warren was targeting the MidEast--and sure enough, Monday, it surfaced through SANA news that he was in Syria.  This is problematic in several ways.  Warren is targeting the  MidEast and is attempting to develop connections there for his Purpose Driven doings and PEACE plan.  Warren's teaching are controversial, to say the least, and have been deemed responsible for false teaching and splitting congregations in the United States. In spite of Syrian news reporting Warren's treacherous statements against the US, Warren predictably claims his visit was just "neighborly."   However, there are details discovered that indicate this may not not so.  I'll discuss the Douglas Johnston/Bush administration connection later in this writing, but first, some background:

Data supporting targeting Israel:   If you go to purposedriven.com click on Global, see the world map. One finds many Purpose Driven churches planted in Africa and around.  However, click on the Mid-East region and you find no contact, no churches, the Purpose Driven page only says: "this page is under development."   If you go to his PEACE Plan web page http://thepeaceplan.com/ click on "what is peace" and see the pull down menu "the solution" you'll see he has sneaked simply the words ( Jerusalem) ( Samaria) ( Judea) onto "the solution."  There is no other discussion of Israel anywhere on his PEACE Plan.  Rwanda was his biggie last anyone knew.  You also may know that Warren has gone to the US Jewish synogogues to train on PD, and advises them to use deception to implement it  "never put it on the public table"     http://synagogue3000.org/video.html   (see video: Congregational Transitions).

A Jewish writer documents Warren assured that he is not interested in converting Jews  http://www.jewishjournal.com/home/searchview.php?id=16029  In addition, Maoz Ministries confirmed that they have translated PD into Hebrew and the book is being distributed in Israel.

Warren 's key to success is deception; he is 'greezin' the skids for future MidEast doings and is sneaking...thus, the media blackout on his Syrian envoy.   Do you think that the guru of pyromarketing would miss the opportunity for historic photo opps. for his Syrian visits? And, Warren likely went with big-time US influencers...read on...

IMPORTANT SYRIAN CONVOY CONNECTION: Damascus News SANA wrote on Nov. 14 that a Douglas Johnston met with heads of Syria in this envoy along with an unspecified " US delegation."  Who is Johnston?  Read on for Johnston's agency mission and connections to the US government/ Military--and then connections to Warren.  Douglas Johnston is president and founder of the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy in Washington.  Dr. Johnston was a planning officer in the President's Office of Emergency Preparedness, Director of Policy Planning and Management in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower). In academia, he taught international affairs and security at Harvard University and was the founder and first director of the Kennedy School's Executive Program in National and International Security.  Most recently, Dr. Johnston served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Among his other duties, he chaired the CSIS programs on maritime studies and on preventive diplomacy  (full bio)    http://www.icrd.org/Officers/johnston.html

Here is Johnson's enlightening and telling writing on his mission-- A Case for Religious Attache'.   It appears, Johnson is doing just that in Syria along with the "US delegation" - Warren?

http://www.afsa.org/fsj/feb02/johnston.cfm

Considering Johnston's US government ties and advocacy for using religion for peacemaking (apparently, even to terrorists)--someone needs to check out how much, if any, the Bush administration knows of this "attache" and did they endorse it?   Was Warren with Johnston?--the SANA article documents that Johnston met with Syrian heads along with the unspecified " US Delegation."

And, Saddleback Church admitted that Warren was in a delegation to Syria (when confronted) but who all went with Warren in the "others in the US delegation" ?

There is more..the "kicker" to connect Warren with Johnston:

Johnston is president and founder of the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C. (ICRD).   SANA Damascus News reported Johnston as meeting with Syrian officials along with the "US delegation."

While reviewing ICRD's web page -- guess who I found on  Johnston's advisory board?

Dr. Richard Mouw - President, Fuller Theological Seminary.     http://www.icrd.org/council.html

As you may know, Warren graduated from Fuller.

As you also may know, Richard Mouw was the speaker who attended the Salt Lake City Mormon dialogue conference. Richard Mouw apologized to Mormons on behalf of evangelicals for "sinning" by "bearing false witness" against Mormons. Mouw came under fire from disagreeing evangelicals.

Thus, it appears that Warren may indeed have other connections to Douglas Johnston, who advocates for religious leaders to intervene in regional conflicts (even terrorist--by the known fact that Johnston was assuredly in Syria the very same time as Warren and the " US delegation").

Also, if you look at officers/boards on Johnston's web page, you will see a horde of who's-who in US government and international men. You may recognize others on this agency.

Richard Mouw may be the link between Johnston and Warren's delegation, as assuredly Warren and Mouw are associates.

Thus, there is every indicator that Warren was not simply doing the "neighborly" thing visiting Syrian heads, but was, in fact, on an attache' (he admits the US state dept. knew of his going) with his "US delegation" along with Johnston.   And, yes, even if the meeting were deemed a "neighborly thing" the "visit"  is classic Warren double-tongued deception to further his own divisive teaching and his Purpose Driven PEACE Plan agenda in the MidEast. And, finally, Douglas Johnston was meeting with Syrian heads assuredly, so, considering his connections to the US government, what was he doing there?
