Basis of Mormonism Series Mormon Prophets and Their Search for the True God
Who is the god of Mormonism? Joseph Smith was sure he knew, saying, "he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth" (Teachings, pp. 345-346). Now Mormonism isn't sure. The current prophet, Hinckley, explained it this way, "I DON'T KNOW - I DON'T KNOW - I DON'T KNOW! " Gordon B. Hinckley told Time Magazine, "I
don't know that we teach it, I don't know that we emphasize it... I
understand the philosophical background behind it, but I don't know
a lot about it, and I don't think others know a lot about it." (Time,
Aug. 4, 1997, p. 56). So the "living prophet" does not know
much about God, does he? Go figure - with all of the emphasis on vaults
and genealogies, Gordon B. Hinckley does not even know the doctrines
of Joseph Smith? Check these two websites for online information
about the Hinckley interviews and the documentation of more lies from the Church's
head office! Institute for Religious Research Berean Christian Ministries |
