The Msindisi Monthly - August 2007 "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. " (1 John 3:1)
I arrived yesterday in the UK happy to see my family and my 2 year old niece who has grown so much. It is hard to believe that it is only three weeks but they are needed. This year has been a year of stretching, not only for myself but others linked to our church. The atmosphere of Manchester has become very cosmopolitan but there is a sense that God has no place in British society. If you want to see my brother preaching in Manchester just check this link out. But I should be joining them on Saturday. It is a much harder person that they deal with but with that comes the joy of the people that are interested and want to talk. www.excatholicsforchrist.com/audio/Man%208.wmv . When I come back we have Jacob Prasch coming to speak who heads up Moriel and following him Calvin Smith will be visiting us who is the Principal of Midlands Bible College and Divinity School. The message I will be preaching in most of these churches is called God's mercy in judgement and is based in the book of Revelation. My Phone number while I am in the UK is 07733016300 if anyone needs to contact me. Evangelism There had been no news or return of calls from the Rabbi that I mentioned in the last newsletter but towards the end of July there has been a sense of turnaround in the evangelism. Mike had been feeling that he needed to have a renewed zeal concerning his witnessing and we had been feeling that things were getting dry in terms of the spot that we were witnessing in, so last week we prayed that God would direct our steps. After singing a few songs I preached with much gusto and Mike spoke to loads of people and handed out tracts. This monday, two days before leaving, I went to buy a chicken burger from a fast food joint and the lady that was running the place was called Lydia. Lydia asked me what I was doing and I said that I was a missionary from the UK. She said that she had a couple of missionaries from Utah who visited their church for 6 months. She then said she went to the Church of Jesus Christ. She was a mormon. I asked her if she had read the book of mormon and she said that she did. I asked her what she though of 2 Nephi where it says that because the Lemanites did not heed God, God cursed them with a skin of blackness. She said that she learned the bible said that Blacks don't have a soul because they don't have a crown. I said that I had read all the way through in the bible and it didn't say anything like that but that that phallacy came from a misunderstanding from a curse put on Canaan, whose descendants never entered into Africa but stayed in the middle east. See was really open to listening and confessed she didn't believe everything that church told her. Please pray for her. Another guy we'd like your prayers for again is a guy called Bafana. I have mentioned him on a few newsletters and he gave his life to the Lord but we have found it difficult to meet up especially because he doesn't have a phone. So I have bought a mobile / cell phone in the UK and when I get back I will give him my old one with a new sim card. A few weeks ago I met a pastor of a local word of faith church called Rudolph. He shared his testimony which was that he was a sinner and needed forgiveness. I was pleased with what he said but he is a pastor in a church that propounds the stark heresy of the word of faith and prosperity teaching as well as believing in the totally unbiblical manifestations such as the Toronto 'drunk in the spirit' lunacy of groups like Vineyard and people like Rodney Howard Browne. So I asked him how does he deal with all the word of faith stuff and he told me that he hates it and actually contradicts it in his counselling. He has been reprimanded for it but he carries on. Mike lent him a video by a preacher called Bill Randles speaking about this kind of stuff and when Rudolph gave me the video he asked me to pray for him because he is probably going to step down but needs direction for where he should go next. Please pray for him and also that his girlfriend will go with him because it would be heartbreaking for him and her if she stayed in that church. I managed to visit Pastor John in Tsakane who seems to be going on well. We look forward to resuming evangelistic efforts in September. In September I look forward to have my friend, Phumulani Mthembu from my old church in KwaZulu Natal visiting us in Gauteng. He will be coming up to hear Calvin Smith speak. Lastly, please pray for the bible left behind in South Africa. People who I was heart sore about leaving on wednesday and that God would look after them and lead them in His ways. Prayer Requests
