Nessim Muse January 2007
Yes, dear friends, these have been perhaps the most difficult and intensive months that we have lived through, coming on the heels of a horrendous rocket war, and before we had time to recover, this additional blow. Albert is very sick, still on life support, and with failing kidneys. Each visit, with the journey to Haifa, takes about 4 hours minimum, and in between I try to keep up with all the financial side of the work, and meetings, and visits from some of our contacts and fellow believers who have been very supportive, as well as correspondence, post and the usual household affairs. The meetings have continued. Sometimes we have had to juggle the times, to accommodate other speakers, as both Albert and Maarten are sick, Maarten with a very bad back. He will also probably have to have an operation. This means that our leadership has been knocked out, as well as our translator, who is spending a year at Bible School. Cindy has continued to visit privately, as well as come to the meetings, and since Elana’s sister went into a home, following a stroke, Tali, her sister, has also began to come regularly, plus a kibbutznik who is not a believer also, but loves to come. Shoshana has taken it upon herself to represent the English speaking Jewish settlers community, and passes on all our news to a number of people, who all send us their prayers and good wishes. In the bed next to Albert is a man from Jenin, in the Palestinian territories. He was shot by masked men, as there is a civil war going on there. His brother speaks very little Hebrew, but was pleased to talk to us, and appreciated our interest in his brother. We were able to pray with him, and send back a little offering for the wife and 6 kiddies, who do not know how their father is, and only know that he is being looked after by the Israeli enemy, and I can assure you that his care much better here, and they cannot reach him to shoot him in his bed! Even in a situation like this, we have opportunities to reach out! And our neighbours also ring us and have offered any help we need. We had to run the gauntlet for years, but now we see the results. May it result in salvation. We do not know what will be with Albert, only that it is God’s hands. Pray that we may have patience, and that eternal good for the salvation of souls may come out of this situation. In Yeshua’s love and service, Ruth, for Albert Nessim and the fellowship
