'Take Heed' Ministries

On Sunday morning, 16 April 2006, BBC 1 Television broadcast a programme from the 'Spring Harvest' festival in Minehead called 'He is risen'. The guest presenter and preacher was none other than Steve Chalke.

Steve Chalke's appearance on this programme raised his 'hypocrisy' and 'heresy' up to new heights - heights that unfortunately would have been broadcast into millions of homes in the UK. Probably many viewers would have been unaware of his 'hypocrisy' but Steve Chalke himself would have been fully aware of it as he listened to, and who knows, perhaps even sang some of the words of some of the hymns that were included in the programme.

Who Defines The Kingdom Of God?

by Berit Kjos
Kjos Ministries

A rebuttal to Brian McLaren's new book:

The Secret Message of Jesus: Uncovering the Truth that Could Change Everything

Where is the Kingdom of God?   How inclusive is it? Who defines the terms?

"What if Jesus' secret message reveals a secret plan?" asks Brian McLaren in his new book, The Secret Message of Jesus. "What if he didn't come to start a new religion--but rather came to start a political, social, religious, artistic, economic, intellectual, and spiritual revolution that would give birth to a new world?

Neo-Pharisees: The New 'Heresy-Hunters'

by Jackie Alnor

There"s a new term being brandished against those in the church called as watchmen. It used to be "heresy hunters" but now we"re being called "neo-Pharisees." The former label was made popular by TBN"s Paul Crouch against those who exposed the false doctrines of TBN regulars who taught the Positive Confession/Word-Faith teachings that they utilized to get the viewers to pay them for God's favors. The new term is courtesy of the Emerging Church using such demagogy against anyone who dares to point out the occult/mystical roots of "contemplative prayer" and iconology.

As Calvary Chapel pastors across North America prepare to attend this year's annual pastors conference starting Monday, many in the church at large are watching and waiting to see if Calvary's recent position paper on the emerging church movement will have a meaningful impact. The position paper, issued after evidence surfaced that some Calvary Chapel pastors were endorsing and promoting the emerging church movement, stated that Calvary Chapel was rejecting the emerging movement including the contemplative and mystical aspects of it. The paper said that those Calvary churches that were teaching and/or promoting emerging should no longer be affiliated with Calvary Chapel.

Lighthouse Trails

Moriel & Jacob Prasch strongly appreciate and endorse the public stand by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa & Pastor Chuck Smith Sr. Regarding the 'Emergent Spirituality'.

James Jacob Prasch

May 21, 2006 - This weekend, a position paper addressed to pastors was posted on the Calvary Chapel website. The paper indicates that Calvary Chapel is taking a stand against contemplative spirituality and the emerging church and decrees that the title Calvary Chapel not be attached to such movements. The statement comes on the heels of a recent discovery by Pastor Chuck Smith, the movement's founder, that his book, When Storms Come, had been tampered with unbeknownst to him. The book was published by Thomas Nelson and included contemplative and Eastern meditation language, which apparently had been added by someone doing the final editing of the book.

I used to be a Church Growth Hormone addict. For my first eight years in the ministry, I was on a daily diet of books and videos centered around the latest church fads and trends that focused on church growth. I was on the cutting edge of ministry thinking, learning more and more about marketing and the psychology of connecting people. I believed that numbers equaled success, even if that meant changing the name of the church, offering self-help programs, or implementing any other sort of method I thought would help to boost the numbers.

A New Mask For An Ancient Secret

By Berit Kjos
February 2007

"'As above, so below!' The Emerald Tablet, circa 3000 BC." :"(Rhonda Byrne, The Secret,TS Production Limited Liability Company, 2006, Foreword, page 14)":Â   Introductory page of The Secret.

"This phrase [above] ... embraces the entire system of traditional and modern magic which was inscribed upon the tablet in cryptic wording by Hermes Trismegistus. The significance of this phrase is that it is believed to hold the key to all mysteries. All systems of magic are claimed to function by this formula. 'That which is above is the same as that which is below."

Mar 31, 2007 Right before our very eyes mainstream Christendom is converging with the New Age movement. In 2007, two events are scheduled, and if they occur without a strong public response by Christian leaders, then we will have entered into a full-fledged paradigm shift, and a line will have been crossed that will very likely mean no turning back.

The Emergent Apostate Church

By Paul McGuire

I was driving on the freeway of Los Angeles when I saw a car in front of me that said "Unity and Oneness" and there were symbols from many of the world"s religions, such as the star of David, the cross, the star and crescent moon and numerous other symbols. Obviously the owner of the car held to the hope that all of the world"s religions will one day unite. This was the dream of the late Beatle John Lennon when he wrote his famous song "Imagine" and it is the dream of United Nations.   This is the false hope of all those who do not know the true God of the Bible and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.   It reflects the "spirit of this age" and the great apostasy that the Apostle Paul=2 0talked about when he said, "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away ( apostasy ) come first, and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition."
