The Serpent and the Dragon: The Story of Two Koreas
Revelation 12 gives a great insight into how Satan tries to destroy God's people. In Revelation 12 we see Satan's attack on the woman (physical Israel), and then his attack on the descendants of the woman (spiritual Israel).
And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Rev. 12:9)
The serpent is Satan the deceiver. The serpent deceived the woman in the garden of Eden. As Adam is a type of Christ (called the last Adam) Eve is a type of the church. The attack against the woman came not by persecution but by subtle deception, by putting truth next to error. The dragon rages against the woman. This is clearly persecution. The devil has these two modes of attack: persecution and deception. What makes Satan's attack in the Last Days so terrible is that both the serpent and the dragon are cast down to the earth. This attack is a danger to those who dwell upon the earth: worldly people.
"Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left." "” Matthew 24:40"“41 (NASB)
There iswhich depicts what is probably the most mainstream concept of how the Rapture is envisioned to work. It shows a Sunday morning church service where the pastor is preaching about the Rapture to a congregation of a couple hundred when the dramatic sound of thunder takes all but a handful "in the twinkling of an eye". (1 Co. 15:52) The miserable few who are left behind are dazed and shocked in a now almost empty church as more than 95% of the congregation were instantly translated in the Rapture. At the risk of filling up my email beyond its theoretical capacity, I am going to ask you to consider whether it is really going to happen like that. Do you think everyone currently attending church is going to be snatched up as portrayed in the video? I think it is opposite of that. If I were making the video, 190 people would be sitting there wondering what happened to the 10 or so whose disappearance was so unobtrusive to that Sunday morning service that they begin with a search to see if they are in the bathroom or parking lot.
An approach was made to someone at a Moriel office concerning a plan to purchase a "refuge" property on a remote island for some kind of eschatological escape haven stating that others known to Moriel may be interested. We are not. Fortunately the Moriel team member whom he contacted ignored his suggestion out of hand as crazy. Others outside of Moriel however, it seems, did not.
A number of people in and around Moriel have inquired concerning my health. I am on a medically restricted schedule until mid-summer and I am only speaking around London and the south of England. No itineraries.
I had my final evaluation with my UK cardiologist Professor Joy today prior to his retirement and I saw my USA cardiologist Dr. Chin in California recently. I will meet my new recommended UK cardiologist shortly. My latest tests came back today. My EKG is good and I remain in pharmacologically managed sinus rhythm. My echo cardiogram also came back looking good as were blood pressure results, etc. My cardiologists are pleased with the results. The remaining issue is now, of course, weight reduction and exercise.
I therefore rejoined a gym today with a medically supervised exercise program. I am using the reduced schedule to work on The Daniel Project, new teaching messages, and being with Pavia who has had a difficult period with the loss of her mother and the illness of her father which caused us to miss our vacation together (important as I have been away so much).
I am also getting good hydro therapy for my neck in Holland (which is closer than in Germany and cheaper than in Switzerland) that keeps me off of the anti-inflammatory drugs for my neck injury that the cardiologists want me to avoid.
I thank everyone for their prayers and concern.
This story in the L.A. Times is but one of many which report that if the Unites States had not vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank that it would have passed unanimously.
While we have been openly critical of the changes in U.S. policy toward Israel by current and past administrations, we think it important to applaud and affirm those times when they do the right thing. We encourage Christians, whenever possible, to not just contact the White House or political representatives to express outrage over bad decisions, but to make a concerted effort as in this case to tell them directly how much we appreciate their taking the right stand on behalf of Israel in spite of overwhelming opposition. It is important that we be as enthusiastic in our support of the right decisions as we are passionate in airing our concerns over the bad ones.
Please make use of this opportunity to provide our political leadership with a positive affirmation to further encourage them. The Internet makes it very easy to contact the White House, your Senators, or any member of the House of Representatives.

Hi Jacob, I hope your USA trip is going well. A friend of mine had a question they wanted me to ask you about the Azazel scapegoat. He was under the impression that the scapegoat and the sacrificial goat were types of Christ and what He did; one goat sacrificed and the other led to the wilderness, etc. He said he looked up the Azazel scapegoat in Encyclopedia Judaica and saw in the Book of Enoch that the Azazel name is demonic there and the sources call Azazel a demon. He's not sure what the Azazel goat originally meant in its Mosaic context and when it began to be viewed as demonic by some Jewish sources. He wanted to hear your take on the Azazel scapegoat. If you have a teaching that deals with this that is recorded I can just make a copy of that to give him. I couldn't think of a CD that specifically dealt with the scapegoat in depth. I hope all is well with you and that you are in good health.
God bless you and encourage you in these days.
This is probably the first of what may be a number of follow-up articles, this one appearing on the New Yorker website titled, "Apostate: Paul Haggis vs. the Church of Scientology". Paul Haggis was not merely a member of this organization for 34 years but held prominent positions of leadership and recruiting (particularly in Hollywood). The article is quite long (26 pages in the print edition) but well worth the time, especially if you have friends or family involved with what Moriel Ministries considers to be nothing less than a cult.
A Polite Response To The Comments In Charisma Magazine By Brother Eitan Shishkoff
(J. Jacob Prasch, Moriel Ministries)
My own family are Israeli-Jewish believers. My wife is the daughter of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel as a child and our children were both born in Galilee. My wife divides her time between Great Britain and Israel (from where she has just returned) due to family reasons, and our son, a law graduate, completed IDF military service last year and now divides his time between Tel Aviv and my native New York due to his legal services business. In my youth I attended both the Jewish Community Center (at the behest of my father) and a Roman Catholic school (at the behest of my Gentile mother) before becoming a believer and I perceive matters from both a Messianic Jewish and Gentile Christian perspective, from both an Israeli and a diasporic perspective, and a Hebrew-speaking as well as English-speaking perspective. Our ministry operates branches in several countries including Israel where we financially support evangelistic ministry, local congregations, and assist needy believers. It is with this background that I respectfully take some issue with Eitan Shishkoff's comments to an article published in Charisma magazine concerning Israeli-Jewish believers not wanting to be identified as "Christian" and not having "become" Christians.

I am from a small town in South Africa (Springfontein, Free State). In my home and also in our home church, we are blessed tremendously by your teachings. Thank you very much for that. At the moment we are busy with a bible study on Genesis. On this I have two questions:
1. Was Melchizedek Shem a pre-incarnate Christophany or somebody else?
2. Can anything in the "Book of Jasher" (Jos 10:13) be proven to be incorrect from the Bible? I understand it is not considered inspired, but from a historical perspective it seems to confirm everything in the Bible. It also seem to explain the background of Genesis very well and also fill in some gaps.
If these questions are a hassle to you I would appreciate it very much if you could just refer me to a trustworthy source.
Thanks in advance
Well, here you go. The very same videos with which Christians flooded my email celebrating the imminent Return of Christ are the very same ones being credited by non-believers as pointing to Maitreya's arrival in this article. Just in case you haven't heard, this quote from the article explains who Maitreya is: "Many now expect the return of their awaited Teacher, whether they call him the Christ, Messiah, the fifth Buddha, Krishna, Kalki Avatar or the Imam Mahdi." Bible-believing Christians who understand the times in which we live know this "Teacher" to be nothing less than the ultimate Antichrist.
