  1. I am from a Buddhist family and my Mom used to be a spirit medium.
  1. Some of our relatives on my Dad's side were jealous of my Mom. They used witchcraft against my Mom. They wanted my family to separate. At that time my family did not have any peace.
  1. Many times my Mom complained that she had to pay a lot of money for witchdoctors who could protect her from the witchcraft against her, and curse those who sent it. The help she got from witchdoctors did not last long. One day I looked at the sky and wondered if there was anyone who could help my Mom to be free from this battle and permanently free.  That's how I thought as a child.
  1. When I became a teenager my Mom sent me to study in Bangkok (from Suphanburi), so that I would be far from my Dad's relatives. That was a time that I had many friends and activities, and studying was fun. At that time I did not think about going to the temple to make merit unless I went home to see my Mom.  But, I thought I was a good person in society who did not make problems for anyone.  Sometimes I lied though.  Sometimes I was selfish.  I did not think about Christianity at all at that time and did not believe in God, but I believed there were spirits.
  1. When I was a freshman in university I joined a Christian club, because I had a friend who was a Christian. That friend talked a lot about God until I felt bored of his many words. He gave me a Thai New Testament and also invited me to go to church many times until I felt like I could not refuse.  But, I went because just out of politeness, not out of any real interest.  When I went to the church I didn't like it, because they tried to pressure me to believe.  They let me partake of communion also, even I did not yet believe and didn't know the meaning of communion.  When I went to church my Buddhist friend made fun of me.  Those friends were both straight people as well as ladyboys.  I felt embarrassed, but kept going to church out of politeness.

         I prayed before meals following the advice of my Christian friend, but when I did so with my Buddhist friends, they took my food while I prayed.  After that I thought I won't pray before meals anymore.  I thought if this is what it means to be a Christian, then I don't want it.

  1. After that experience I felt angry and threw the Bible that my friend gave me into the garbage. When I threw the Bible as hard as I could, I yelled, "I don't want to see this again in this life!" 10 years passed by... 
  2. My Buddhist belief was basic. I was not a strong or active Buddhist. I went to the temple to make merit because I wanted blessings.  Or, sometimes I made merit because I thought it would help me in my next life.  If I paid respect to monks or to idols it did not give me any answer or hope that could guarantee success.  I lost money to the temple because of the belief that it would accumulate merit for me.  Sometimes I went with my Mom to see spirit mediums.  I thought if that's a good way, then I would join with them, too, but it didn't help me.

         At that time I had some problems and it made me disappointed in my life.  I felt alone with problems that seemed as large as mountains and no one could help me lift these mountains.  I spent my life without hope and I felt bored and I did could not see which way to go for my future.

         One day I went to study for my master's degree, and on the bus there was a free seat near a window, so I sat there.  I looked out the window and was bored.  There was a lot of traffic that day and some people left the bus before their stop, because they didn't want to wait.  A foreigner came to sit next to me, but I didn't pay much attention.  Then that person asked me how to pronounce a Thai word.  I looked and saw that it was a Bible.  I thought to myself, "Another Christian?!"  But, I answered his question and he gave me a Jesus VCD.  I put the VCD in my bag.

         About one month later, I had some free time and found the VCD in my bag and watched it.  From the video I understood a little bit about Jesus' life, but didn't understand His significance for my spiritual life.

         I kept in communication with that foreigner by e-mail and when he came to visit Bangkok he would give me a Christian book and invite me to church, but he did not speak too much or pressure me.  I felt good that I was not pressured.  Then I became more open to seek God.

                  I searched for a church near my apartment so I could go by myself.  At that time I didn't understand why Christians always like to talk about God and Jesus.  I went to church every week and they invited me to join a Bible study. 

         Before I decided to become a Christian I challenged God without thinking about it much, "If God is real then make me go to a prayer meeting on a Wednesday evening."  I was not willing to go, and I didn't think God could overcome my resistance.

         I received a book called, "I Dared to Call Him Father" from that foreigner.  When I read the book it really touched my heart.  When I read the book it reminded me of all of God's dealings with me in the past and how I resisted God.  It made me understand my sin, and why I needed Jesus.  I realized that I live in a country where we have freedom to choose any religion.  But, the person in the book I read about had to be willing to die for the truth that Jesus is the only one who could save her.  This story made me feel very sad that I had refused God.  So, when I finished reading the book, the first thing I thought about was that I wanted to get a Bible so I could get to know God better.  I remembered the time that I threw the Bible away and I cried.  I wanted to get a Bible on that day.  Where could I get one?  I tried to find a Christian bookstore, but couldn't find one.  Finally, it was getting late, and I decided to go to church to ask the pastor  for one.  When I got to the church, I heard a worship song, and I remembered that this was the Wednesday prayer meeting!  I remembered how I challenged God. 

         I surrendered to God and confessed that I believe in Him!  That day I asked the pastor to lead me in prayer to become a Christian.  She was surprised and happy at the same time.  I joined the prayer meeting and was given a Bible.  I went home very happy.

         When I became a believer my Dad wondered why I went to church every Sunday.  It made my Dad upset.  He told me if I am a Christian I should not call him my Dad anymore.  I listened to him, but kept going to church.  I prayed for God's help.  Then I got married to the foreigner from the bus!  My Dad no longer complained, but let me be a Christian as my husband was a Christian.  About five years after that my Dad became a Christian, too.

ชีวิตก่อนที่จะมาเชื่อในพระเยซู

  1. ฉันเติบโตมาจากครอบครัวที่เป็นชาวพุทธ และมีแม่เป็นคนทรงเจ้า
  1. แม่ถูกอิจฉาจากพี่น้องของฝ่ายพ่อ พวกเขาจึงใช้วิธีไสยศาสน์ทำร้ายแม่ และพวกเขาต้องการให้ครอบครัวของฉันแตกแยกด้วย ในตอนนั้นทุกคนในครอบครัวไม่มีความสุขกันเลย

  1. เมื่อฉันโตเป็นวัยรุ่นแม่ส่งฉันให้มาเรียนที่กรุงเทพฯพร้อมกับพี่ชายที่มาก่อนหน้านั้น เพื่อให้ไกลจากญาติทางฝั่งพ่อ ตอนนั้นเป็นช่วงที่มีเพื่อนๆเยอะ มีกิจกรรมให้ทำมากมาย เรียนสนุก การไปวัดทำบุญของฉันถือว่าน้อยมาก หรืออาจเรียกได้ว่าไม่ไปเลยถ้าไม่ได้กลับบ้านหาแม่ที่สุพรรณ แต่ฉันก็ยังคิดว่าฉันเป็นคนดีของสังคมคนหนึ่ง ที่ไม่ได้สร้างความเดือดร้อนให้ใคร มีบ้างที่โกหก ศาสนาคริสต์ในเวลานั้นถือว่าไม่ได้อยู่ในความคิดเลย ไม่เคยสนใจเลย ไม่เชื่อว่ามีพระเจ้าด้วย
  1. จนวันที่ฉันได้เรียนต่อที่มหาวิทยาลัยปี1 ฉันเข้าชมรมที่เป็นคริสเตียนเพราะพี่ปี2ชวนฉันมาเข้าฉันจึงมีเพื่อนที่เป็นคริสเตียนที่เพิ่งรู้จักกัน ทุกครั้งที่เขาเจอฉันเขาจะพยายามชวนฉันไปโบสถ์ พยายามชวนพูดเรื่องพระเจ้า จนฉันรู้สึกเบื่อหน่าย รู้สึกถูกผลักให้เชื่อ เขาให้พระคัมภีร์เล่มหนึ่งกับฉันด้วย จนวันหนึ่งเขาเอ่ยชวนฉันไปโบสถ์ ฉันไม่สามารถปฏิเสธการเชิญของเขาได้แล้วเพราะปฏิเสธมาหลายรอบแล้ว ครั้งนี้จึงไปด้วยความเกรงใจ เมื่อฉันไปโบสถ์ฉันรูสึกไม่ชอบเลยพวกเขาพยายามยัดเยียดความเชื่อว่ามีพระเจ้า พระเยซูตายบนไม้กางเขนเพราะบาปของฉัน พวกเขาให้ฉันร่วมพิธีศีลมหาสนิทซึ่งในเวลานั้นฉันไม่รู้ว่ามันคืออะไร แต่ฉันก็ทนร่วมพิธีด้วยความอึดอัด แต่ก็ยังคงเคารพต่อสถานที่และกิจกรรมที่เขาเสนอมาให้อยู่อย่างเงียบ

         ฉันลองทำตามวิธีที่เพื่อนพูดว่าเราต้องอธิษฐานขอบคุณพระเจ้าเสมอก่อนกินข้าว มีครั้งหนึ่งที่ฉันหลับตาอธิษฐานและเมื่อลืมตาขึ้นปรากฏว่าจานข้าวของฉันหายไป ฉันรู้สึกโกรธและเสียหน้ามากที่เพื่อนแกล้ง และโกรธที่ว่าถ้ามาเชื่อพระเจ้าแล้วเป็นแบบนี้ฉันไม่เอาดีกว่า

  1. หลังจากเหตุการณ์นั้นฉันเก็บอารมณ์โกรธและกลับบ้านด้วยความเดือดดาล ฉันเห็นกองขยะข้างทาง ฉันจึงตัดสินใจขว้างพระคัมภีร์ทิ้งด้วยสุดแรงของอารมณ์โกรธและขว้างไปให้ไกลเท่าที่จะทำได้อย่างเต็มแรง ฉันสบายใจได้ทิ้งพระคัมภีร์แล้ว ชีวิตกลับมามีสีสันอีกครั้ง ฉันรู้สึกอย่างนั้น และบอกกับตัวเองว่า "อย่าได้เจออีกเลยนะชาตินี้คริสเตียน" 10 ปีผ่านไป
  1. ชีวิตความเชื่อชาวพุทธของฉันเป็นอะไรที่ผิวเผิน ฉันทำบุญเพราะอยากได้การอวยพรกลับมาแต่ฉันก็ไม่เคยสมหวังกับการไปกราบไหว้พระ หรือรูปเคารพเลย พวกนั้นไม่มีคำตอบและความหวังที่การรันตีให้ฉันได้เลย มีแต่จะเสียเงินเพียงเพราะความเชื่อที่ว่า ถ้าทำบุญมากหรือบริจาคเงินมากๆ ก็จะได้รับบุญมาก หรือการอวยพรกลับมามาก บางครั้งฉันตามแม่ไปหาคนทรงเจ้าเพื่อสังเกตดูว่าเป็นอย่างไรถ้าดีฉันจะขอให้ช่วยอวยพรฉัน สุดท้ายช่วยไม่ได้

         ฉันเริ่มมีปัญหาในหลายๆเรื่องจนทำให้ฉันรู้สึกแย่และผิดหวังกับชีวิต รู้สึกเหมือนฉันอยู่คนเดียวเดียวกับปัญหาที่ใหญ่เท่าภูเขาที่ไม่มีใครช่วยฉันยกออกได้เลย ฉันใช้ชีวิตแบบไม่มีความหวัง มันน่าเบื่อ มันมองไม่เห็นทางเดินสำหรับอนาคต

         วันหนึ่งฉันเดินทางไปธุระต้องขึ้นรถเมล์ บนรถเมล์มีที่ว่างติดหน้าต่าง1 ที่ ฉันได้นั่งลงและมองออกไปนอกหน้าต่าง วันนั้นรถติดมาก คนที่นั่งข้างฉันทนรอไม่ไหวจึงลงไปก่อน มีอีกคนหนึ่งมานั่งแทนที่แต่ฉันก็ไม่ได้ใส่ใจอะไรรู้แค่ว่าเป็นชาวต่างชาติ สักพักคนที่นั่งข้างฉันถามฉันว่า "นี่อ่านว่าอะไร" ฉันเหลือบไปมองสิ่งที่ปรากฏ คือ พระคัมภีร์ ความคิด ความรู้สึกในเวลานั้นบอกกับตัวเองว่า "คริสเตียนอีกเหรอเนี่ย" แต่ฉันก็เก็บท่าทีและตอบกลับไปว่าภาษาไทยอ่านแบบนี้ นั่นคือจุดเริ่มต้นที่ทำให้ฉันได้พูดคุยกับชาวต่างชาติคนนั้น และก่อนที่เขาจะแยกจากกัน เขามอบVCD เกี่ยวกับพระเยซูให้ฉัน ฉันรับไว้และเก็บมันให้ลึกสุดในกระเป๋า

         หลังจากนั้นประมาณ1 เดือนฉันมีเวลาว่าง จึงได้เคลียร์กระเป๋าเป้และเจอVCD ที่ชาวต่างชาติให้ ฉันจึงเปิดดูและได้รู้เรื่องเกี่ยวกับชีวิตพระเยซูแบบเต็มๆอีกครั้ง ในเวลานั้นฉันเข้าใจที่เป็นประวัติบุคคล แต่ไม่ได้เข้าใจทางด้านฝ่ายจิตวิญาณแต่อย่างใดเลย 

         ฉันมีโอกาสได้ติดต่อกับชาวต่างชาติคนนี้อีกทางอีเมลล์ และทุกครั้งที่เขาลงมายังกรุงเทพฯ เขาจะนำหนังสือมาให้อ่าน และชวนฉันไปโบสถ์ แต่เขาไม่ได้พูดมากอะไรเกี่ยวกับพระเจ้าในเวลานั้นฉันรู้สึกดีที่ไม่ถูกผลักดันให้รับรู้เรื่องราวของพระเจ้าจึงเปิดใจมากที่จะรู้จักพระเจ้าด้วยตัวของฉันเอง

         ฉันเริ่มมองหาโบสถ์ใกล้บ้านเพื่อฉันจะได้ไปและศึกษาเรื่องราวของพระเจ้ามากยิ่งขึ้น เพราะในเวลานั้นฉันยังไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมคริสเตียนถึงชอบพูดแต่พระเจ้า พระเยซู พวกเขาไม่เบื่อหรือยังไง เมื่อฉันไปโบสถ์คนที่โบสถ์ตอนรับด้วยดี และชวนฉันเรียนพระคัมภีร์ ฉันตอบตกลง และก็ยังไม่เต็มที่

         ก่อนที่ฉันจะตัดสินใจรับเชื่อพระเจ้า ฉันได้พูดท้าทายพระเจ้าแบบไม่ได้ตั้งใจว่าถ้าพระเจ้ามีจริงก็ทำให้ฉันไปร่วมประชุมอธิษฐานให้ได้สิ แต่ฉันคิดว่าพระเจ้าทำลายความตั้งใจของฉันไม่ได้แน่นอน

         จากนั้นฉันได้รับหนังสือเรื่อง กล้าเรียกว่าพระบิดา เมื่ออ่านหนังสือเล่มนี้จบแล้วรู้สึกสัมผัสใจฉันมาก เหตุการณ์ทั้งหลายที่เกิดขึ้นกับฉันเหมือนมันแสดงภาพในหัวฉันให้ฉันเห็นครั้งเมื่ออดีตฉันกระทำตัวอย่างไร ฉันต่อต้านพระเจ้าอย่างไร ฉันปฏิเสธพระเจ้าอย่างไร ทุกอย่างเหมือนเปิดโปงความบาปให้ฉันเข้าใจถึงความสำคัญที่ฉันต้องมีพระเยซู ฉันรู้สึกว่าฉันอาศัยอยู่ในประเทศที่มีอิสรภาพในการเลือกนับถือศาสนาอะไรก็ได้ แต่กับบุคคลในหนังสือที่ฉันอ่านเธอต้องยอมตายเพื่อที่จะเชื่อความจริงที่ว่าพระเยซูคือพระเจ้าแท้แต่องค์เดียวที่ช่วยเธอให้รอดได้ เรื่องนี้ทำให้ฉันเสียใจมากกับการที่ฉันเคยปฏิเสธพระเจ้า ดังนั้นเมื่ออ่านหนังสือเล่มนี้จบ สิ่งแรกที่นึกในเวลานั้นคือฉันอยากได้พระคัมภีร์สักเล่มเพื่ออ่านเพื่ออยากจะรู้จักพระเจ้าให้มากขึ้น ภาพในอดีตมันฟ้องฉันตอนที่เอาพระคัมภีร์โยนทิ้งงกองขยะ ฉันร้องไห้ ฉันต้องได้พระคัมภีร์ในวันนี้ จะไปหาที่ไหนล่ะ ฉันไม่รู้ว่าเขาขายพระคัมภีร์กันที่ไหน พยายามไปหลายที่หาร้านหนังสือคริสเตียนแต่ก็ไม่เจอ  จนในที่สุดเย็นมากแล้วก็เลยตัดสินใจไปโบสถ์ถามหาพระคัมภีร์กับศิษยาภิบาล เมื่อไปถึงโบสถ์สิ่งได้ยินคือเสียงร้องเพลงนมัสการพระเจ้า จึงนึกขึ้นได้ว่าวันนี้เป็นวันพุธที่เขามีประชุมอธิษฐานวันเป็นประจำ ฉันนึกถึงสิ่งที่เคยได้พูดท้าทายพระเจ้าเมื่อในอดีตได้ ฉันจึงยอมจำนนต่อพระเจ้าโดยไม่มีข้อแม้ใดเลย วันนั้นฉันบอกศิษยาภิบาลว่าฉันอยากให้เขาอธิษฐานรับเชื่อให้ฉันที เขาดูแปลกใจพร้อมกับดีใจในเวลาเดียวกัน คืนนั้นฉันได้ร่วมประชุมอธิษฐานและได้พระคัมภีร์กลับบ้านด้วยความยินดีมาก

         เมื่อเริ่มเชื่อพระเจ้าพ่อของฉันเริ่มสงสัยว่าทำไมฉันถึงไปโบสถ์ทุกวันอาทิตย์ เรื่องนี้ทำให้พ่อโกรธ พ่อสั่งห้ามฉันไม่ให้เป็นคริสเตียนถ้าเป็น ก็ไม่ต้องมาเรียกเขาว่าพ่ออีกต่อไป ฉันก็รับฟังแต่ยังคงไปโบสถ์นมัสการพระเจ้าและอธิษฐานขอพระเจ้าช่วยให้มีทางออก จากนั้นฉันได้แต่งงานกับชาวต่างชาติที่เจอกันบนรถเมล์ พ่อของฉันจึงหยุดบ่นและอนุญาตให้ฉันเชื่อพระเจ้าตามสามีได้ จากนั้น5ปีต่อมาพ่อของฉันก็ได้กลายมาเป็นคริสเตียนอีกคน

Thailand Update August 2016

Jacob's Trip
It was a blessing to see Jacob here last month.  He preached a message on Sunday, which I thought was an excellent message.  It’s uploaded to YouTube here… 


 
Women’s Prison
The following day we went to the Women’s Prison to hold a church service there.  About 150 ladies were there.  The praise and worship was really uninhibited, and there were lots of “Amens” during the messages also.  It’s different from going to a typical Thai worship service outside, where they might have a lot of noise, but the atmosphere is different.  Jacob preached there about the Last Days, and I translated.  With time constraints it was a fairly short message, but really got them interested in the topic (which we hope to teach about more month by month), talking about “birth pangs,” which many of them could relate to, as this is a biblical metaphor used regarding the End Times.
 
One of the ladies in our weekly English class there showed a strong interest in the gospel.  Please pray for her and others who may not outwardly show an interest, but who are thinking nonetheless.
 
Shan Camp
We went to a Shan work camp not far from our house and gave them a lamb to eat.  Jallay preached in Shan about the Passover and how Jesus is the Lamb of God.  After that we gave an invitation and about ten of the adults raised their hands to pray with us.  In Thai/Burmese culture this may or may not mean they really were touched and want to get right with God.  Sometimes people may raise their hands just to be friendly or because the message sounded good, but not necessarily that they will commit their lives fully to Jesus.  We need to follow up with them.
 
Khae’s Testimony
Khae had a chance to share her testimony in English last month and she spent about 6 hours writing it out again.  The way she wrote it this time I thought was really good.  I’m attaching that here.
 
Also, here are some pictures of Micah with Jacob and also of our time at the prison.  We went to a friend's birthday party last month and I prayed for him.  During the prayer Micah said "Amen" all throughout the prayer.  I think Micah's a pentecostal ?

CHILDREN'S DENTAL MISSION
Moriel Children's Dental Mission in Olongapo is now underway. 49 kids and 11 more are coming. We took the severe tooth ache cases and gum disease cases first. None of these kids ever saw a dentist and the smaller ones didn't know what a dentist is. Some of the little ones didn't have a clue what was going on.

We interviewed a few dentists to get the right people and facilities we needed. It is fantastic. Just as good with God's help as the Pediatric Medical Mission we did, this time it is teeth, and lots of them!

We did tons of x rays. It will have been quite a project for us when it is completed. This will be followed by classes in oral hygiene by a pedantic hygienist.

DENGUEY FEVER - THE BATTLE CONTINUES
This year, as soon as the monsoon rains stop, we are going to war against Dengue fever. We are going to smoke the mosquitoes out of existence before they infect any more of our kids.

TEACHING MINISTRY
The Tegelo translation work of scripture teaching and the pastor training by Brother Hope continues. Filipinos are good at evangelism (although Moriel does evangelize in The Philippines). The spiritual need is discipleship teaching and scripturally qualified pastors.

PRAYER REQUESTS
As you can see from the photos, we are needing a bigger mini bus to transport more kids which we are working on obtaining (we have about 100 children now, all rescued from the garbage dump where they scavenged to survive with predictably rotten teeth and ultra high Dengue fever risk).

To hear these kids sing hymns and say their prayers is absolutely magnificent. The Lord is indeed gracious both to them and to us!

Please pray for Paul Seville and his mission team in Olongapo/ Subic Bay, and the ministry of Brother Hope.

Please also pray that The Lord provides a new larger vehicle for transporting the children. We are only asking the Lord for the money and not soliciting our readers. We have the Dental Mission nearly funded already by God's goodness. We are however in desperate need of a larger and more reliable transport vehicle for the kids.

Moriel Missions Policy
Moriel can make needs known (the main one being prayer), and as The Lord leads receive contributions by those so led of the Lord to contribute. Except in very occasional cases of a major disaster however (eg. Earthquakes), Moriel does not, per se, 'fundraise' for its projects. We do however actively and aggressively seek prayer.

Last Saturday, 13 August, the AFL held their first 'Pride Game' to promote acceptance of LGBTIQ issues and to oppose 'homophobia'.

There were rainbow coloured numbers, rainbow socks and rainbow flags.

The following article, by James Parker, is insightful…  

James describes how he visited Australia twenty years ago and watched football. He says, "I had not long left behind my own involvement at the heart of London’s gay community where I had witnessed a significantly higher than average percentage of men struggle with depression and addiction, with some both attempting and succeeding in committing suicide."

James then goes on to discuss the AFL 'Pride Game' - as well as the health risks of homosexuality and other issues.

The article was printed in Sydney's Catholic Weekly prior to the Pride Game.

FIRST - Who is James Parker?

James spoke in Sydney earlier this year, where he was subjected to protests.

That's because James speaks against the endorsement of homosexuality. Twenty years ago, he was an active ‘gay activist’ and was living with a male partner. Then James became a Chistian. His partner went to church with James, and he was "deeply touched by the word of God”. Initially, they tried to live as a 'gay Christian couple' - but James found that didn't work... James said, "I had to leave that relationship because the call from Jesus was a greater love.” Read articles here and here.

AFL "PRIDE"

I first visited Australia twenty years ago. I had not long left behind my own involvement at the heart of London’s gay community where I had witnessed a significantly higher than average percentage of men struggle with depression and addiction, with some both attempting and succeeding in committing suicide.  

A third of my three-month Aussie visa was spent glued to a television screen in Jannali in NSW watching Australian Football. I became mesmerised by each player’s speed, talent and swift decisive reactions, and by every team member’s phenomenal level of fitness. For me, Aussie Rules took gold on the podium of the sporting elite.

This coming weekend will see Round 21 of the AFL host the inaugural Pride Game between the Sydney Swans and St Kilda. It is being hailed as the first Pride Game for a professional sporting competition anywhere in the world.

St Kilda CEO Matt Finnis is quoted as saying that “the Saints were committed to this game because ‘pride’ is the opposite of ‘shame’”. He states that, “St Kilda firmly believes that communities can only thrive when all people belong”.

We can all agree that people need to belong, but history shows that pride is not the opposite of shame. The pathway through shame into belonging demands humility and raw honesty and not its nemesis, pride. Ask any addict or trauma victim who has truly moved through recovery.

Swans CEO, Andrew Ireland, has said that “the match will help raise awareness and champion change”. But what type of awareness is being raised? And what change exactly is being championed?

Nearly thirty years ago when in the gay lobby, I was in discussions with others how we might desensitize the public to view homosexuality with indifference, or better still to see such a lifestyle as something to be celebrated. Much of the discursive outcome is brandished in the book After The Ball by authors Kirk and Madsen, a marketing and a psychology graduate from Harvard. 

Simply put, the strategy involved encouraging openly proud members of the LGBTQI community to obtain leadership roles in key sectors of society: the entertainment industry, the Media, education, politics, the military, and healthcare, especially psychology and psychiatry. We knew then that the most challenging bastion needing to fall would be the sports sector as this literally embodied male and female. Sport would be the final hurdle before the rainbow winning line.

The only major stumbling block that future leaders would need to quash would be public concerns that might rise about the health risks linked to homosexual practice – and the risks are frightening. It is for this reason we are taught that it is impolite to discuss what happens in, ahem, gay sex. So, let’s look at the risks.

Aside from numerous STIs and physical injuries, some of which are virtually unknown in the heterosexual population, there are high rates of psychiatric illnesses and of cancers. There exists a considerably higher rate of ‘chemsex’ and general drug abuse. Ongoing suicide attempts are not uncommon and epidemiological studies show that gay and bisexual men can lose up to 20 years of life expectancy. I can honestly say that not even copious amounts of LGBTQI promotion, legislation and social acceptance over three decades have significantly changed the outcomes for many who practice homosexually. So is the problem society’s issue, or do the roots lie in the activity itself?

The risks of gay sex, which our young people are being encouraged to consider and practice, are the crack in the dam to be hidden from public examination at all costs. And this has meant keeping many sexually active youngsters in the dark as well.

If ever the entire risks were to be wholly revealed, then any carefully constructed casuistic glitz and pride would rapidly fall away. Society would again be outraged, and rightly so, by the devastating long-term effects of homosexual practice, only this time out of genuine and deep concern for those who practice it. 

The way to keep whistleblowers silent has been to employ homophobia-phobia which involves creating an atmosphere where anybody, including the strongest CEOs of AFL clubs, would be fearful of questioning any matter relating to homosexuality for fear of upsetting the LGBTQI community and their allies. Or even more frightening still, of being seen to be politically incorrect.

But what about the truth? What about humbly and honestly “raising awareness and championing change” first and foremost among the gay community? Why not first consider donating any monies willingly being spent on AFL’s temporary one-day rainbows to raise awareness across the gay community and the sporting world at large of the serious health risks linked to certain sexual practices?

I have also witnessed many times that those who end up infected with any number of ailments as a result of homosexual practice often find themselves further isolated rather than belonging, and clothed more deeply in shame than ever. In the long run, this is the opposite of what Finnis and the Saints seem to wish to achieve. 

Australia’s first religion is sport, and young children often see footy players as demi-gods. To entwine LGBTQI ideology with sport, without notifying young and old alike of the entire risks contained within the dogma being promoted, is tantamount to knowingly advertising the destruction of health. Surely this isn’t the remit of the AFL’s CEOs or its top executive Gillon McLachlan. There would be outrage if footy players were to be linked to the promotion of tobacco, and yet the detrimental effects of homosexual practice are often way more serious than smoking. 

I believe the AFL is unwittingly barracking for a greater injustice of the very people it is seeking to try and support, and all in the name of justice. It’s not as if the AFL’s history doesn’t already have enough sexual and narcotic scandals on its leaderboard without needing to give birth to others that will mature in the future.

Where Round 21 appears to be entirely shrouded in benevolence by the Media and AFL officials, there lies just beneath the surface a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Trying to break down the barriers of what is seen as a patriarchal culture within the AFL is one thing. Rebuilding it with resources from a gaytriarchal culture is another. 

I am left wondering what another groups of saints – the Ugandan martyrs, St Charles Lwanga and companions, who were burnt alive for opposing homosexual practice and ideology a decade after the Sydney Swans and St Kilda teams were founded – might just think of Round 21 of the AFL. An eternal own goal for each team I reckon.

THE DEVELOPMENT AND ORIGINS OF MODERN PRE WRATH & INTER SEAL POSITIONS – A BRIEF SYNOPSIS

The first author to identify himself as "Pre Wrath" was CS Lovett in his book "The Latest Word on the Last Days" (1980). It was probably Lovett who actually invented the term 'Pre Wrath'. His view of Pre Wrath combined the Post Tribulational views of Dr. Samuel Tregallis with a Pre Wrath position because he placed the wrath of God only at the very closing phase of the final 7 years preceded by the rapture.

Dr, Tregallis, an able Greek scholar, had a much more basic view of dispensationalism than John Nelson Darby and he did not subscribe to Darby's Pre Tribulationism. His works were republished by the Sign Ministries of Bob Van Kampen who saw Tregallis as important in developing Pre Wrath in that the church would suffer tribulation, but it was Lovett who first set the precedent in modern terms of the Rapture being Post Tribulational, yet Pre Wrath in his book in 1980.

Others began to hold to a Rapture following the 6th seal claiming early Patristic history supported it. This included Stuart Traille who fell into apostasy and became a cult leader but who, like Lonnie Frisbee, Moe Berg and other figures who turned sour in the Jesus Movement, had a pervasive influence on saved hippies (it was at this time in the Jesus Movement that I was first exposed to and believed the rapture followed the 6th Seal in the early 1970s). The Jesus Movement of Chuck Smith that became Calvary Chapel however was staunchly Pre Tribulational.

Another very influential figure in the Jesus Movement at this time who was not Pre Tribulational was Dr. Walter Martin.

This trend in mainstream circles was spawned in considerable measure in the 1970s by Robert Gundry's book 'First the Anti Christ', (although Gundry himself favored a Post Tribulational view seeing the Great Tribulation as the full seven years). Gundry explored the implications of the eschatological writings of Hippolitus in particular. 

Along this line in the nineteen eighties and nineties, Bob Van Kampen and Mar Rosenthal both claimed that they were not setting any new precedents and denied they were entering new territory. Marvin Rosenthal stated: "Pre Wrath is consistent with what is known of the beliefs of the early church" and Bob Van Kampen stated that "Pre Wrath simply expands on the position of the church fathers". Both claimed not be setting a new precedent, but influenced by Tregallis, Gundry and others, claimed they were only returning to what the early church believed. Others such as researcher Ed Tarkowski disputed this and saw Pre Wrath as breaking new turf suggesting that there is as much evidence from the early church that could just as well support a full seven year Post Tribulational position. 

Much of the initial controversy surrounding Pre Wrath was not about the position itself but the effect of theocratic politics as Marv Rosenthal was a known figure within the world of Jewish missions and evangelism when nearly all Jewish mission agencies were solidly Pre Tribulational and Marvin Rosenthal dared to break ranks. It cost him his leadership position with an established evangelistic mission to the Jews. 

Intra Seal is closely akin to Pre Wrath. Intra Seal is Post Tribulational but it does not view the entire seven years as the Great Tribulation. It varies from Pre Wrath however on the identity of the restrainer which Intra Seal sees as The Holy Spirit (akin to Pre Tribulationalism). In a sense, just as the original Pre Wrath of CS Lovett combined Pre Wrath with Post Tribulationalism, Intra Seal combines Pre Wrath with Pre Tribulationism concerning the identity of the Restrainer.     

Conclusion

Patristic history cannot absolutely confirm Pre Wrath, Intra Seal, or Post Tribulastionism. It does however confirm that Pre Tribulationism was never the view of the early church.

Although Dr. Tregallis was Post Tribulational, as Bob Van Kampen asserted in his republishing the works of Samuel Tregallis, he nonetheless had a profound impact on the development of Pre Wrath. Van Kampen actually purchased the publishing rights for Tregallis' book.

The influence of Robert Gundry in academic and scholarly circles in the development of Pre Wrath and Intra Seal cannot be over stated, pointing back to the early church.

It was CS Lovett however who is the best demonstrable candidate to be called the father of modern Pre Wrath, and it was he who at least in published form, first coined the term. 

Pre Wrath and Inter Seal became refined versions of what technically commenced, at least in modern terms, with CS Lovett.

Prayer Request For Brother David Pawson

Moriel & Jacob Prasch seriously request prayer for Christian author and scripture expositor David Pawson in the UK who is battling an aggressive cancer that is diagnosed as inoperable.
 
We ask The Lord for intervention, guidance for David's physicians, and that neither pain, the effects of the disease, or any side effects of treatment will inhibit his capacity to serve The Lord and continue his preaching schedule. May The Lord strengthen him and not least of all may he and his wife bask in the peace of Jesus during this season of difficulty. Most of our doctrine, and all of our fundamental doctrine is congruous with the doctrinal positions of David, although the styles and approach certainly differ. We regard him as a much needed asset to The Body of Christ at this time.

We received these questions:

The first time I ever heard of you was watching THE DANIEL PROJECT on Netflix (probably 4 years ago). The second time I saw you was this week, on YouTube. It was a response to Dr James White. That was … “wow.” I’m deliberately keeping this short because I want to get to the reason I’m reaching out to you, but I have to say, I also agree that Calvin was a brutal and bloody man who caused his beliefs to spread by the sword. I cannot see how any modern Christian can be a Calvinist not only because of how Calvin was, but because of the whole 'once saved, always saved, do as you like’ pitch.

I also looked at your video on John McArthur, suggesting that he said we can take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven. Well, you handled that just as well. I actually shared both of those videos with a few communities I'm a member of.

Right now, I'm listening to a YouTube video on "what is apostasy," and you are sharing your beliefs, which isn't Pre, or Mid (kinda) and certainly isn't Post. You seem to have your own beliefs, but they You have a good amount of knowledge on stuff, and I'd like to ask you a few questions to get your feedback. Some are more essential to me, others not as much.

If you think making a video will be easier to answer, that would be fine ... just please don't mention my real name. My online alias is 'MessengerOfTruth" and has been for 15 years.

Little bit about me. I am a Christian. I was born into Christendom (raised by devout parents, disciple by God-fearing men who loved the Lord, read since I was a child, etc). Pentecostal: because retaining that which has been taught from the beginning is vital. Protestant: because I'm against that whore, Ba'al, who is the enemy of the Jews and Christians.


Now, for my questions. Some essential. Some not essential.

We agree on the Holy Spirit being the Restrainer, but slightly differently. I believe the Spirit is what the world calls our “conscious” – always telling us to avoid or not do evil. I believe this is why the world is plunged into utter lawlessness because the Restrainer is removed, worst even than the lawless days of Noah. He has also been the One who points to the Son, as I see in Psalm 2 (Father speaking, Son speaking, then Spirit saying to “Kiss [worship] the son,” and since it’s the Comforter who glorifies Jesus, He has always glorified the Son.

ESSENTIALS

  1. You stated that it’s not plausible for the Holy Spirit to be taken out. But here is my questions on that:
    1. the world is plunged into utter chaos. Lawlessness. The rider on the red horse isn’t just war, but its global civil unrest. Men do not have a “conscious.” Wouldn’t this be a removal of the Holy Spirit who retrains men from doing evil?
    2. in Revelation, we read in the letters, “he that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” But later in Revelation, when Tribulation is going on in the earth, all we see is “he that hath and ear, let him hear.” There is no more mention of the Holy Spirit or the Church. Isn’t this significant?
    3. in Revelation, we are also told several times that mankind will not repent. But we know it’s the Churches job not preach the Gospel, and the Spirits job to call men to repentance. But there is neither Gospel nor Repentance during the Tribulation period. In fact, it is an ANGEL who say to not take the mark nor worship the beast. An angel is doing the work of the Church and the Spirit. I ask myself “why?” … if the Church or the Spirit are on the earth. And why doesn’t the angel say “repent” or “turn to Jesus”? The Gospel doesn’t appear to be preached either.
  2. A question that no one has ever answer satisfactory when I ask, is, how did the souls of men get IN HEAVEN {before} the FIRST SEAL is even broken? My question is, if there is no Pre-Tribulation Rapture, how did the souls of men, and the 24 Elders (whom I believe to be the 12 Tribal patriarchs and the 12 Disciples, because the Messiah is the Cornerstone that bind BOTH Covenants), get in Heaven if they weren’t Raptured.
  3. Do you see the first few seals as being wrath? I do. I see the first as religiosity. Godless religiosity. It just doesn’t make sense to me why the first rider would be a man, but all other riders be things. That’s just not consistent. Plus, I can see the religiosity of this world everywhere in the last 300 years until today. The red rider of war, civil unrest, lawlessness. If a man wants to rape a women, what will stop him? If a man hates another man and wants to kill him, what will stop him … IF the Restrainer who restrains men from evil is gone … and no one even repents … each being the activity of the Holy Spirit. Isn’t this wrath? Then the high inflation. Desperate people do desperate things. And a loaf of bread for a days wage will make millions pretty desperate. Neighbors killing neighbors for a can of food. Fathers abandoning their families just to feed themselves. Women selling their bodies. Do you see wrath in this? Then of course, all the death. Do you see wrath in this? I see wrath in ALL the seals.
  4. Why does no one deal with what follows the last rider. Hell. Why does no one ask “why isn’t Paradise or Heaven following death?” Perhaps its because all who die are going to … Hell? Else, why is Hell following and swallowing up all the dead? Why not Heaven? Why not heaven AND hell?
  5. Jesus said He will keep His people FROM the hour. My examination of the Greek word ek seems to suggest that its sort of an avoidance, to never experience, to be saved FROM in, not go through it, or be in it. But, it’s the same Greek word when dealing with the Uncountable Number from all nations and tribes and tongues. Ek. The English translation seems to give an impression that they literally come out of the Tribulation, which makes no sense because an ‘uncountable number” cannot come out of 6 billion. But the Greek seems to suggest that the number never even experiences the Tribulation. Saved FROM, not OUT OF.

I totally disagree with Post Tribbers. That is an insult to God, a misrepresentation of His Character, even spits on the testimony of Abraham, Job, and the deliverance of Noah and Lot.

I never had an issue with Mid-Tribbers.

I do not agree with Pre-Tribbers because they are younger than me, and they default to the “last trumpet” because they don’t take the time to look at Jewish or Roman culture and the military cries (last trump), and they separate wrath from the Tribulation period.

But you sir, are neither Mid nor Pre-Wrather. You certainly are not that demonic Post-Tribbulation. I get that you are expressing your thoughts, not “absolute doctrinal facts”. But I’m wondering how you view this basic questions.

NON-ESSENTIALS

  1. Do you know when the Pre-Wrath belief started? What I have read, several years back, was that it is less than 20 years old. I had heard of Pre, Mid and Post Tribulation believers since my early childhood, but never did I hear about Pre-Wrath until more recently. I am now in my mid-40s. New doesn’t always mean wrong, but, this raises a measure of concern.
  2. What about the writings of men like Ieranues, Cyprian, and Ephriam, all of whom taught a Pre-Tribulation Rapture? Do you think their writings in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Centuries are valid, and that the belief resurfaced in the 1600s through people like William Cunninghame, Joseph Mede and others (when the Bible was written in English and men could read for themselves)? I know this did not start with John Darby because Darbys grandparents weren’t even born.
  3. Do you believe that our belief on the Rapture is essential to Salvation? For instance, do you see Hebrews 3 & 4 as a warning to the Post-Tribulation people, and unbelievers, who refuse to believe in the deliverance of God, just as Israel refused to believe Joshua and Caleb and were not allowed into the Promised Land (below)? The author of Hebrews 3&4 seem to be warning us not to be of that same unbelief, denying the delivering messages of Joshua and Caleb, or else we also will be left out of the Promised Land (above)? The warning seems very clear. Do not fall into the unbelief of rejecting Gods deliverance, or that unbelief will turn out to be our liter rejection, just as it literally caused Israel to be left out.

That’s in my head over and over again. And so I consider the goodness AND the severity of God, not His goodness only.

Our view pre dates Pre Wrath in that Jacob Prasch, like various others, believed the rapture is between 6th & 7th seals etc. prior to the Pre Wrath position  being crystallized by the books of Marvin Rosenthal and Robert Van Kampen.  Our position is documented and explained at length in the Book "Harpazo" (available on Amazon, Kendal, from Moriel etc.). It is nothing more than what was later called Pre Wrath that in common with Pre Trib holds that The Holy Spirit is the Restrainer of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, and certain other more minor differences to do with the timing of the ministry on the Two Witnesses in Revelation  chapter 11. Intra Seal is a version of Pre Wrath and Pre Wrath has the same primary elements as Intra Seal. The two positions are  in essence not only very  similar or more accurately two variations of the same fundamental position although the Pneumatological differences are marked.

Moriel and Jacob Prasch reject the concept new or further doctrinal revelation (Revelation 22:18). The scripture simply teaches an ever clearer understanding however off what is already revealed in God's Word concerning The Last days (Daniel 12: 4), which is the very meaning off the Greek term 'Apocalypsis'.

We cannot dialogue by e mail about issues already elaborated on which are again published and explored in depth in 'Harpazo'.

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person. He convicts of sin through the mechanism of conscience but He is not our conscience. One is a person, the other is not. With respect, as you have stated it, your position is very seriously wrong.  

When conscience becomes dysfunctional, the Greek text of the New Testament describes this with a term that we normally translate as the conscience becoming "seared"; a phenomena that increases in the last days (1 Timothy 4:2). This is not the same thing as  The Holy Spirit ceasing to restrain.
