DEMOCRACY IN THE ENGLISH SPEAKING WORLD IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF THE END?

Citizen activists in Canada are reeling under governmental repression of their democratic rights to protest covid regulations.
Freedom Convoys' have converged upon the streets of Ottawa resulting in the spectacle of roads being deadlocked for close to a month. This weekend, however, the blockade came to a resounding halt as police used heavy handed force to clear the protesters. Prime Minister Trudeau has attempted to frame the Truck driver protesters as an unlawful insurrectionist coup. He invoked draconian emergency powers to quell the protests. Elliot Kaufman writing in the Wall Street Journal said: "For Justin Trudeau, emergency powers are too often a policy of first resort. In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, the Canadian prime minister sought arbitrary power to tax, spend and borrow for 21 months. He had already negotiated a Covid-relief package with the opposition, but he wanted a blank check. Now, as the pandemic seems to wind down, he has returned to the well. Mr. Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on Monday for the first time in Canadian history. (The law’s predecessor, the War Measures Act, was used only three times: World War I, World War II and the 1970 FLQ crisis involving Quebecois terrorists.)" The question now is whether the convoys will continue, and if they do - whether a broader movement gains impetus. On this point concerning the future the Guardian reports: "Experts said supporters will likely try to spin the result of the barricade as a victory or the catalyst for a bigger war. Furthermore, mainstream and fringe politicians have started vying for influence among the movement’s supporters. There are a number of politicians looking to use this as a springboard.”
Similarly in Melbourne, Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews employed and directed strong arm police tactics to disperse citizens protesting some of the most draconian Covid lock regulations in the world. This was in turn replicated in Wellington, New Zealand that witnessed aggressive police crackdowns directed by Prime Minister Jacinda Adern. All of these repressive measures at the behest of supposed liberal politicians have occured in concert with each other, and mirror the reactions to the January 6th protesters in Washington. This troubling trend has seen U.S. Attorney General Garland attempting to misuse the FBI against parents protesting 'Woke', transgenderism and critical race theory in school curriculums - with characterisation of concerned parents with extremists and even terrorists. The rogue employment of law enforcement and national security apparatus in an assault on the long accepted tenets of democracy have found de facto propaganda support in most of the mainstream media. This is buttressed by the censorship of opposing opinions by the tycoons of social media.
A common ingredient among those seeking to suspend democratic norms is their adherence to globalist agenda ideas, with a number of these leaders being professed disciples of Klaus Schwab from the World Economic Forum. Schwab is actively singing the praises of the Chinese Communist dictator, while ignoring his human rights abuses, militarism against India and Taiwan. Schwab further ignores the Wuhan origins of Covid 19, the Chinese environmental catastrophe and the economic time bomb of China's property bubble, public and corporate debt and shadow banking system - which is a house of cards waiting to tumble. The question will be - is this the beginning of an apocalyptic demise of western democracy in a postmodern and post Judeo-Christian world? Or, can populism, faith based traditional family and moral values, and common sense prevail as a fail safe mechanism ?
In related news of the assault on democracy closer to home, the day of reckoning may loom for Hilary Clinton. The Wall Street Journal explains that 'Special Counsel John Durham continues to unravel the Trump-Russia “collusion” story, and his latest court disclosure contains startling information. According to a Friday court filing, the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign effort to compile dirt on Donald Trump reached into protected White House communications. The filing relates to Mr. Durham’s September indictment of Michael Sussmann, a lawyer who represented the Clinton campaign while he worked for the Perkins Coie law firm. Mr. Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI at a September 2016 meeting when he presented documents claiming to show secret internet communications between the Trump Organization and Russia-based Alfa Bank. The indictment says Mr. Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was presenting this information solely as a good citizen—failing to disclose his ties to the Clinton campaign...The disclosures raise troubling questions far beyond the Sussmann indictment. How long did this snooping last and who had access to what was found? Who approved the access to White House data, and who at the FBI and White House knew about it? Were Mrs. Clinton and senior campaign aides personally aware of this data-trolling operation? Mr. Durham’s revelations take the 2016 collusion scam well beyond the Steele dossier, which was based on the unvetted claims of a Russian emigre working in Washington. Those claims and the Sussmann assertions were channeled to the highest levels of the government via contacts at the FBI, CIA and State Department. They became fodder for secret and unjustified warrants against a former Trump campaign official, and later for Robert Mueller’s two-year mole hunt that turned up no evidence of collusion.' Trump said: 'The latest pleading from Special Counsel (John) Durham proves indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia. 'This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution.'
