The Year That Drought Came

By Martyn S Carless

[caption id="attachment_3986" align="alignright" width="258" caption="Parched land in the grip of an intense drought"]Parched land in the grip of an intense drought[/caption]

This article was first written in response to the unprecedented year of drought in 2006 but it also has correlations with recent events in Australia.

With the past year in retrospect, one thing is certain: it was the year that drought came.

From one corner of the parched globe to the other, 2006 was a truly exceptional year for drought, which brought despair to many and hugely impacted global agriculture with many implications for annual food production.

However, one region in particular did not escape the implacable scourge. With its record temperature rise "“ along with below average rainfall "“ Australia suffered what is said to have been its worst drought in a thousand years. :"(The Guardian, 8 November 2006
http://www.guardian.co.uk/australia/ story/0,,1941942,00.html)":  As the extreme dearth took its hold, devastating huge swathes of the country and forest fires raged rampant, severe water restrictions were imposed as reservoirs ran dry.

All Scripture quotations are from the New King James Version, unless otherwise stated.

Christianity experiences unprecedented attacks on its foundational truths. These attacks are motivated and coordinated by evil forces that are intent on deceiving all people as a prelude to revealing the Antichrist and physically establishing Satan's kingdom on earth. Their main obstacle is biblical beliefs in the deity, atoning death, resurrection and second coming of Jesus Christ. As a result, attacks against evangelical Christianity are on the increase, being aimed at discrediting the canonical books of the Bible, and thus also the God and Saviour of the Bible.

The Blind And The Blinder

by James Jacob Prasch

A decade ago I & Moriel hosted a conference in the U.K. entitled "Preparing For Persecution" . At a time when the popular rhetoric of most so-called Evangelical leaders in the UK , Australia , New Zealand and elsewhere riding on the back of a counterfeit moves of God from Toronto, Canada and Pensacola, Florida that predictably came to absolutely nothing   in terms of the revivals these carnal and demonically influenced deceptions promised but could not deliver.

Cracking The "Code" Of Preterism

A Review of Hank Hanegraaffs "The Apocalypse Code" and a Refutation of Preterism

by Ryan Habbena

Hank Hanegraaff, radio"s "Bible Answer Man," includes the following statement in the introduction to his new book, The Apocalypse Code: "Make no mistake: this is not the stuff of ivory-tower debates. The stakes for Christianity and the culture in the controversy surrounding eschatology are enormous!" With the stakes so high, he"s entered the fray" ”writing on the subject of the end times. In this work, Hanegraaff establishes then defends what he calls "Exegetical Eschatology." In so doing, he aspires to give a lesson in how to interpret what the Bible says while teaching his view of apocalyptic texts. As the reader progresses through The Apocalypse Code Hanegraaff's view becomes clear: it is partial preterism.2 This particular brand of eschatology has experienced a recent resurgence in evangelicalism, possibly fueled in part by a reaction to the popular Left Behind series,3 but, popularity and theological trends do not determine truth. To engage this system of theology we must define preterism, determine whether it is Biblical, and declare the implications of this system of eschatology. When this is done, we will then discern some of the practical problems of preterism.

Hank Hanegraaff"s The Apocalypse Code

by Dr. Thomas Ice

For the last fifteen years or so when I have heard Hank Hanegraaff, host of the Bible Answer Man radio program, field questions on eschatology (end times prophecy) it was very clear that he has been against the futurist perspective from the get-go. Hanegraaff has told his audience for years that he was studying the field of eschatology and would announce his views in a book one day. Hanegraaff's book has now been released, entitled The Apocalypse Code :"(Hank Hanegraaff, The Apocalypse Code: Find Out What the Bible Really Says About The End Times and Why It Matters Today (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 2007), 300 pages.)": and has confirmed his rhetoric and tone heard for the last fifteen years on the radio as Hanegraaff has been treating dispensationalism as if it were a cult. Yes, Hanegraaff has been "culting" dispensationalism! Even though Hanegraaff always insisted that he was open to and had not adopted a specific view of eschatology, it has always been equally clear to anyone who is schooled in the various views that he had all along rejected dispensationalism and embraced his own version of a preterist/idealist scheme. Yet, he has never admitted this; and even after the release of his book still refuses to classify his own conclusions in spite of the fact that he assigns labels to virtually everyone else.

Antichrist's Strategy Exposed

by Jackie Alnor

Back in 1985, a book came out that examined so-called communications coming from UFOs called "In Advance of the Landing." The authors showed how the space brothers seemed to be getting the earth prepared to be open to receive them and were waiting until the moment was right before making their grand entrance to the world. As ludicrous as that sounds, there"s a parallel with the strategy of the spirit of antichrist who cannot make his debut until the timing is right, when the world has been fully prepped to accept him.

The Great Apostasy

by Jackie Alnor

[This is continuation of Part 1: The End Times at TBN]

Bible Prophecy -- Subject to Change

In the early days of TBN, the idea of an immanent Rapture set the tone of TBN eschatology (the study of last things). In fact, Paul and Jan Crouch would get excited any time world events signaled a warning that trouble was escalating in the Holy Land. They would bring on their regular end-times experts. Besides Hal Lindsey, there was Doug Clark, Charles Taylor, Dr. Steuart McBirnie, Chuck Smith and a host of other experts who would analyze current events to see where we were on the Armageddon clock. It was always about one minute to midnight, according to their estimates.

The End Times At TBN

by Jackie Alnor

Paul Crouch, president and founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, believes that the Lord Jesus Christ is going to return to planet Earth to set up His prophesied 1,000 year Kingdom. :"(For a good study of Bible Prophecy, see J. Dwight Pentecost's Things to Come: A Study in Biblical Eschatology, Â ©1958 Dunham Publishing - republished by Zondervan, Grand Rapids.)": Not all professing Christians believe in this doctrine of the millennial rule of Christ. Many spiritualize away clear passages of Scripture to come to a different conclusion.

Papal Rome and the European Union

By Michael de Semlyen and Richard Bennett

Papal Rome is widely respected and admired by the world. She is seen as well organised, successful and influential, as well as dignified and authoritative. The aura of uncritical acclaim around the person of successive popes is unique to the Church of Rome. No other global institution has it. Her pronouncements on moral issues carry great weight. So well regarded is the Papacy today that the acceptance of her extends even to Evangelicals, most of whom have ceased to question her doctrine.
